I'm building a custom width Dana 60 and can't decide what ends and bearing to use. It has to be pressed on bearings that do not need adjusters and cannot be a full floater. I want to make sure what I use will hold up well to side loads. Big Ford ? New ? Old ? Set 20 ? Sealed ?

This is for my '41 : build thread (http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=21869&page=6)

Strange engineering makes ends that use the 3.150 big bearings and retain the mopar bolt pattern if you want to use Mopar brakes. If you are going with an aftermarket brake package any of the big bearing ends will work.

I got info last night on a caliper bracket kit I might use to mount the Ford Cobra calipers. I'll need to use a big ford end with the 3.150" bearing. The question still remains- which specific bearing is going to hold up best to side loads ?

FWIW, I'm going with Set 20 tapered bearings. :woot:
