Is anybody using a seat from the Recaro baby seat range?

I'm looking to purchase the Recaro Start iQ, and wanted to know if anybody has some feedback on them.

Seems like a good seat that can be used from birth to about age 4.

I'm looking at getting one soon myself. I've got a buddy that had 2 of them and loved them. I think they just came out with new models but the prior ones were rated at the top for safety I believe.

I'm hoping for a deal to come along. I've seen them on deal sites for ~160 but not in the last 9 months that my daughter has been here :D . I hated to buy one before knowing what color to get HA! Now I'm gonna have to pony up I guess.

It has nothing to do with my fiance's driving abilities either ... :_paranoid

Who sells these over there? They are not sold here in Australia.

I got one for my daughter that she started using when she was one and it now turning 4 on the 20th. The seat still looks brand new and I have removed and washed the covers a few times (you know the usualy vomet deal lol). And the cover still fit super snug the. Seat is also super heavy duty compared to all the other brand on the market even ones in the same price point. Granted they are pretty expensive, I paid like 320 but it will also be the last seat vyou get that kid. You will be very happy with it .

Yep great seats. My boys loved them. My youngest one is using the simpson booster chair. (old style) looks just like a racing seat.

Where did you guys buy them from?

I figured if they carried recaro's name they would be quality, but great to hear stories to back it up.

We just bought this recaro for my 13 month old son. http://www.recaro-cs.com/us/product/combination-harness-to-boosters.html I'm kind of jealous. He's got a sweet recaro seat and I don't.

It seems that recaro makes some very nice child safety seats. We have very happy with the product so far.

I have / am using a Signo G2.

I am very happy with it. One thing to point out is the adjustable head restraint... the taller they get (which seems to be every other day) all you have to do is move the lateral supports up with them. It's good for up to 8 yoa or 50 inches and 70 lbs. This was the first seat I got after the mandated 'rearward facing' cradle seat... and it is the best seat I found after many many hours of exhaustive research.

One of the most notable thing's about Recaro baby seats... is that they actually sled test them. That may not seem to be a big deal now-a-days... but they have been sled testing them since they got into the kid seat business... and everyone else has followed them.

I ordered mine from safechildseats.com

I'm going to get this one for my 2 yr old. Read some reviews about the straps not being near long enough for the 90 lb weight limit. How old/big is your kid?
Any problems with the length of the straps?

Those reviewers must have been a lil slow...lol
The shoulder straps are only supposed to be used till like the third setting then it becomes like a booster seat
where u use the cars 3 point harness. My kid is pretty small she's like 31 pound and I still have the seat on the 2nd setting, ( it has 5 )

There seems to be a good bit of interest. I think we need a Lat-G groupbuy on Recaro baby seats

The new seats look much better than the old ones that I was looking at when my 5yo was born. They received POOR safety reviews back then too, but the new ones look much more refined.

We have the Simpson seat and it works pretty good. My son loves his "racing seat belts". Im our Riviera, he can sit up front as there aren't any belts in the back, so he loves to go for an ice cream run in the Riv. "Haha....Mom has to sit in back!"

I have a picture at home of him wearing his helmet when we got to take "parade laps" during the lunch break at an open track event. He really thought that was cool being strapped in his "5 point harness", wearing his helmet, and "racing" with Dad.

(It was a proud Dad moment for me, too :D )
