Got a 2005 ctsv ls6 ( that came w 6spd manual trans / t56), t56 magnum and the QuickTime bellhousing 8020. Apparently 8020 is 5.5" deep and input shaft sticks out approximately 1" and does not allow BH to mate to engine block, it pivots on pilot baring. Is there a difference on stock LS automatic vs stock LS stick shift tail end of crank as far as how much it protrudes from engine block. Ctsv t56 bellhousing was 5.750" deep w .200" of the input shaft sticking out. Big difference from what the 8020 is giving me. Do I have to use spacer between trans and BH? Or does QT make other bellhousing for my application?

Apparently the ls6 crank has two options for pilot baring depending on transmission . The ctsv trans has a shorter imput shaft and uses ls6 pilot ( which sits further Out ) , your standard t56 has a longer imput shaft and uses ls1 pilot and it sits further in on crank. So ls6 crank has the option to accommodate both according to a little research. Will verify later on today

The LS6 crank is no different than any other LS crank that has the same stroke. All LS cranks have two positions for the pilot bearing. The f-body position is deeper inside the crank and uses a pilot bearing with a small OD. The Corvette (and maybe the GTO?) use the outer pilot bearing position and uses a bearing that has a bigger OD. All LS style T56s have the same input shaft length.

Ok so is not jus ls6 its all LS cranks , and if all variants of the t56 have same length imput shaft than what changes is the dept of the bell housing.

That is somewhat true. Keep in mind that C5 and C6 Corvettes don't have a T56 mounted directly to the engine. The transmission is mounted in the rear. The LS6 was only used in Corvettes and in CTSVs (2004-2005). In the CTSV there was a T56 mounted behind it, the bellhousing may be different from the f-body bellhousing, but I do not know this for a fact.

Yeah the ctsv bellhousing is deeper 5.75"
But I'll be changing pb and it should make it work
