Hi all -

Just looking to get ya'lls opinion on a new motor for my goat. Car currently has a 67MM rear mount turbo (492rwtq/472rwhp). Something is knocking in the motor and figure it's time to do it. I have a few options - keep the STS kit, or "upgrade" to a new twin front mount kit hitting the market.

Next is the motor - stroke it or not? General wisdom has been to turn the LS2 into a 402 or 408. This is my DD however and would like it to remain nice and drivable. The idea of a fast-revving de-stroked block is appealing to me. Downside is I'd have to sleeve the block and that is $$.

Planning on sticking a TCI 6X tranny in there. A "GT-R" fighter, if you will.

Goals are 10sec pass and daily driveability. 7-800hp. Needs to hang with any of the big boys on the street. Lots of Z06s, ZR1s, etc etc.

Thanks,
Max

stroked 416 with ported LS3 heads should be a good start- I love spending other people's money:unibrow:

I wonder how that STS kit would work with that combo

I went for a ride in a 650hp twin turbo camaro and it scared the shizz out out me. Wasn't exactly my idea of a daily driver.. For daily driving I would stick to low boost and you don't really need an insanely built motor for that.

If I were you (assuming I was spending my money...you may have tons more) I would drop a 6.0 Iron block and 8PSI and call it a day. Once you get over a certain HP it is useless if you can't get it all to the ground.

EDIT: I just re-read your post. 471rwhp with a turbo kits seems low. Is this because it is a rear mount or is the PSI really low?
