Image size for posting

I have been posting my images on the my thread and when i view other threads they seem to have image previews in a large format. I can see that the image is the correct file size but how do i achieve the large format viewing on the images i am posting?

you get a small thumbnail which when clicked enlarges if you're posting pictures from your computer (attachments). To get the larger pics to show up they need to be hosted on the net, and then simply copy and paste the URL of the pic into this box http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/images/editor/insertimage.gif
