Well I figured it was time to start my own thread on the rebuild project I got going on with all the goodies I ordered recently. I know it may not be the traditional "Pro-Touring", but I really enjoy my car and working on it.
Here is the products purchased for the make over.
RideTech Coil Over Suspension Level 2
RideTech Tru Turn
RideTech Front Muscle bar
Ridetech 4 Link Rear
Wilwood 6 piston front & 4 piston rear
12.88 Front & rear disc

Pro-touring or not, I like this car and what you have planned for it. The color was a great choice. Good luck!

Love the brown truck!..New headers arrived today....:ups:
I know it may not be the traditional "Pro-Touring", but I really enjoy my car and working on it.
Cool car - question: what makes this car not Pro-Touring? I think it looks fine to me - you seem to be on the right track... unless maybe I missed something.

Nice choice on wheels! They look great with that color. Jason is a great guy and business man to deal with for sure. He hooked me up with new wheels a week ago. Again keep the progress going and the pics coming. I am needing inspiration to help my project along.
Awesome choice on the wheels and I must say that's one nice pro touring Camaro. Look forward to seeing more pics.

Smitty68, yes Jason is a great person to deal with and endured everyone of my questions and im sure I tested his patience..lol
It only took 4 weeks to get my wheels in, even though he stated 6-8 but depends on work load at the plant I guess. But it was a nice surprised to know they were here early :)
Just waiting on rear end to get here next week, delay in the process set me back a couple weeks. Should be here next week so I can get it in and on the ground....
Thanks for the all the compliments.....I really like the way it is coming along:thumbsup:

Hate to ask but do you have anymore pics of your serpentine pulleys? And what kit and company did you go with? The motor department looks nice on your car. Thanks for any info!

Well another day closer to getting it back on the road....Got all the Ridetech rear end suspension all bolted up, but ran into to a left/right centering up the rear end issue....There is no way to move the rear end left/right without re-welding the axle tube brackets.....
Anyone know of another way?
Rick D
09-07-2013, 07:50 PM
So are you saying the rear end isn't centered and is off set to side?? If that is the case I would first make sure it's not the body of the car?
RBuhr69
09-07-2013, 08:07 PM
Correct, the LR tire has 1 1/2 clearance from the inside the tire to the inner fender well, the Right side sits against the inner fender well.....
Rick D
09-07-2013, 08:21 PM
Is it your org rear end or did you change it out? If I remember correctly you only add the upper brackets to rear housing? I would start by taking some measurements on the car and the housing. If its your org housing then the lower brackets have not moved?? So the housing should still be centered? Did you double check the wheels? I'm sure their correct but stuff happens?
What all has been changed in the rear?
RBuhr69
09-07-2013, 08:44 PM
new moser rear end but ordered exact same length, I did not specify where to weld the spring purch brackets and only said 69 Camaro so I assumed they would have been welded as if from factory setting. I have not added the upper brackets yet and only centering, and getting ride height set...
However, a friend of mine asked if the lower trailing arm body mounts had slots in them. This may be my issue so I will check that in the morning by loosening the bolts and see if the body mount can shift over enough......
RBuhr69
09-08-2013, 01:19 PM
False alarm..Just got in a hurry yesterday and wasn't checking everything....Got it all lined up this morning and ready to weld tabs..Wheeewww!!!! Had me scared there for a minute..
Got the rear tires set where I want the ride height.....Probably going to have to get lower rate springs for front, I was able to adjust them after this photo some, but I will be out of the shock performance area if I keep going any further....These are 650lb, probably need 550lbs..

09-08-2013, 06:49 PM
Thanks for all the comments and help, that's for sure!!!
The front end is sitting too high for my liking but I know it is all new stuff and it is tight still, not much movement trying to muscle it my self...I received 650lb springs but I think they are going to be way too stiff for me...Im thinking im going to need 500 or 550lb minimum..

Little more progress this week, waiting on some new Wilwood rear brackets for the brakes and getting my axles upgraded to 1/2 studs (ordered them wrong)...But got the front end all finished up, sitting a little too low but want to get the rear end all finalized before I start raising it back up some...
RBuhr69
09-21-2013, 01:20 PM
Well it's back on the ground finally.....Had to wait on some new brackets from Wilwood that showed up Friday, but didn't know someone had to sign for them so no one was home....Arr!!!! Nothing like having to wait till Monday now to finish it up now.....

Thanks!!! I am very excited with the finished car and appreciate all the help from the site with a few issues encountered throughout the build......
Still got some fine tuning to do on shock adjustments to get it leveled out better...Figured it would settle in some so didn't want to go to crazy on lowering it too much at once.....
The upgrade made a "World" of difference in how the car handles and you have to be more cautious driving being that low as well...
HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY :):)

Do you have enough room for the Muscle Bar to move all the way up with out hitting the bump stop that was welded to the bottom of the subframe at the factory (near the sway bar mounts)? Did you have to trim any metal from inside the spring pocket to clear the coil overs?
RBuhr69
09-30-2013, 07:04 PM
Yes, you have to do some minor grinding/cutting to clear the muscle bar brackets around the spring pockets...Nothing major that a grinder with a cut off wheel didn't handle.....and there was another minor area to grind where the front bumper bolts to the sub frame but it is all in the instructions from Ridetech.....
Thanks everyone for the compliments!!!! I am very happy with the look even though it was a long process for one person and all the little issues here and there but it is DONE!!
Well done for now, interior work next later this year after Daytona...

So did you just have to pry the rear end over to get it centered before you welded on the upper tabs? Mine is currently off by 1/4".
