Ahh I should have read that Wegner and Thomson (www.thomsonautomotive.com) get my votes!

I have had dealings with both and you can't find nicer people that build killer motors!

Hi I'm starting a 69 pro tourer, keen for any advice or referrals to builders

I'm looking at LSX376 B15 with Whipple, I'm looking at trying for. 700hp?

Hi, I saw you was in New Zealand. Thomson automotive is in the USA, and so is Wegner. You might look at Sam's Performance. I seen several engines built by Sam's Performance on Harrop Engineering's facebook page. Sam's is located in Sydney, Australia. Maybe Sam's can you get you a Whipple, but they are located in Fesno, CA.

You need a builder that can package the system in your car, so I chose a place located rather close to you.

The cheapest route is to buy a GMPP LSA and do a few mods for your hp goals. Texas Speed builds a 700hp LSA for a little more money. Golen Engine builds an LS3 416 whipple also.

The car is being built in the USA

Try Thomson Automotive then. http://www.thomsonautomotive.com/ My LS418 should dyno next week at Thomson, we switched to LS9 supercharger. Brian expected around 800Hp on my 418. If you go to LS3 427, then he can get around 880 hp with the LS9 supercharger. Mark Stielow had that in Mayhem and it was LS7 (427) with LS9 heads. He can build you one with a Whipple, if you like.

Wegner is fine, but realize that they did file bankruptcy in 2010. http://www.jsonline.com/business/83949542.html

I think they came out of that chapter 11 ok, I actually bought my motor during their filing and had no issues at all, I wouldn't let that detour you from dealing with them should you decide to go that route. You can't go wrong either, Brian builds some insane motors and had the customer service to match. Hopefully you start a build thread here soon, you've got some awesome parts going into this build.

I am sure they lost creditors. I just wanted to make him aware that it was filed in the past. After the Unique Performance bankruptcy in 2008, but they filed Chapter 7. I would have thought twice about building a motor with Wegner, but it seemed to work well for you.

Yes, I should start a build thread for my car.

I just received a supercharger from Wegner about 3 weeks ago. There return on phone calls and emails are horrible. I purchased front drive, holley hp ecu and supercharger. I hate to bitch but when you spend a pile of money and they flat out ignore you. I will tell you that Ted Jannetty of Jannetty racing is a sharp guy. He does a lot of newer Camaros. He calls you back. Give them a call
