Dose anyone know if the speedtech big block headers will work with 305 AFR heads? I want to order AFR heads but I hear you cant use some headers. Im using Speedtech sub with Stainless Works headers.
I'm assuming you read this on AFR's web page?
The 305cc comes standard with AFR’s trademark .750” thick head deck, reinforced rocker stud bosses, and are equipped with premium one piece stainless steel 2.250” intake valves and 1.880” exhaust valves. Standard combustion chamber volume is 117cc’s on the 305cc partially ported heads. Take note the higher flowing exhaust ports and bolt pattern are raised .375 (3/8") over stock location, this rarely affects header or chassis fitment.
Properly selecting the correct aluminum cylinder head for an application depends on a large number of variables. Please consult with one of our sales technicians to help assist you in making the best decision for your particular application. (see footnotes here)

I didn't see that but I did hear they where raised and didn't know if the headers would work with the AFR heads and my speedtech frame. Ill give AFR a call. Thanks for the help.

Thanks! This is just what I needed to know. Checked out your Nova.... Verry nice! Are the headers really close to the bottom of the car with AFR heads? Do you have any pics of how far they hang down from the frame?
Thanks again!

The only issue we have seen is if your using HEAD STUDS you will probably have to clearance the bottom of the header flange or shorten the top of the studs.
the other thing is if the ports are raised you MAY need to adjust the steering column a bit to get the steering shaft through the headers. minor items.

Just noticed you didn't mention if they were the SW headers that Speedtech designed and sell or the standard BB headers they sell
pm me if you have any more ??
