It doesn't make sense and it is not normal in that application....at least to me.

If the calipers and rotors do not hit any sheetmetal or suspension bits_and_ you can get a wheel to fit, it shouldn't be a problem. The rotor hangs out on my 32 because 3 1/2" backspacing.

In a perfect world the bearings would be centered in the wheel.

Did you get what you ordered?

Can you get wheels to work?

If the answer is yes to both of those, run it. The floater bearings are huge and overkill, one of the Sutton threads on how to calculate bearing loads but I think you are well with in range if with the very little back space.

Look at the upside, rear brakes should stay nice and cool......or mini tub it.

If you want to keep your existing wheels then the wheel mounting surface measurement should be the same as your previous rearend. With that said, your wheel still may not cover the rotor depending on the backspacing, the rotor is pushed farther inboard with a floater.

No, but I've honestly never paid that much attention to it. It sounds like Donnie ' s 32 is that way, I don't think it would be problem other than you'll have to buy wheels and mini tub it. I would get another housing and axles myself. If you decide to stick with what you have I would take the springs off of the shocks and articulate the rear suspension to make sure the calipers don't interfere with the frame or anything else.

You could argue that it might be better for cooling for the rotors to be exposed, although on the rears that's not as much of a benefit. But then you have the potential for rocks and road trash to get lodged in there with them not being protected by the wheel. That would eliminate any potential benefit in my opinion.

I agree with Tim, I think you are headed for a new housing. That sucks, and I hope your vendor accepts some responsibility for this if you asked for the WMS to be the same as what you already had.
