69 Camaro with a few questions

Hey guys I have posted in this section before quite some time ago. I have had my 69 for about 10 years and I am finally going to force myself to restore this thing. I am 25 years old and am a college student. I am not broke but I can't afford a lot of this sweet stuff a lot of guys are doing. The car presently needs body work and i am taking it to the body shop very soon. I will be having a frame off resto. It currently has a 327 that has a decent said of heads a good cam and has low miles on a rebuild and a th350 trans. I want to go with some dse drop front springs and their drop leaf springs. It has front discs but it has rear drums and a crappy rear so I def want to upgrade those. I am planning on putting billit specialties street star 17" wheels on it. Do you guys think I should use the current engine or swap out while the car is apart? Do you think it would be more cost efficient to go with a sbc/5speed or an ls1/t56? Basically I need a plan of attack and I am really clueless as to how to put it into action. I hope I haven't confused everyone. Basically this is sort of a budget build but I in no way want to use "cheap" parts.

My advice - If you really are doing a body off resto save your money now. Get the car blasted, any bad areas fixed, panels replaced, and painted. Then see how much money you have left in the budget and go from there. You may have to wait on the drivetrain stuff, and since you have a good condition one already I would leave that for last. Your going to spend some $$$ on the first part in a hurry. Post up some pics so we can see what kind of shape it's in??? :)

that pic should work, I am away from home so I can't upload from my pc. I think that is the game plan, I am takin it to the body shop next week and have no clue how much it's going to cost but i know it's going to be a lot. The vette is my dads although I wish it was mine.

The pics def don't let on what kind of shape its truly in. Up close there is some surface rust and it is going to need new floor pans for sure

Looks like a good car! You'll definitely know what will be needed once she is stripped and blasted.
