And here are the last of them....That manifold sure is a thing of beauty.

The rear down tube on the roll bar is all wrong. Also, I am kind of suprised it doesn't have power brakes to stop that monster either. I think I will steal the hood strut design though. What on this car sets it apart from any of the others being built besides the names of Unique and Foose. Looks like a bunch of bolt-ons to me, nuthin "unique" about it.

Yes, that brake setup (no power assist) is pretty minimal considering the HP in the car...
The gas cylinders on the hood hinges are a nice touch, I don't think they would be enough to lift anything other than a fiberglass hood, tho (?) The front grille (though I don't like it) has some real work in it. I noted the same thing about the rear downbar...not good, what's it doing so far down there?... They also for some strange reason painted the tubes with crinkle/texture paint of some sort which didn't look too good (IMO). I did like the outside door handles, and the seat upholstery (Ford GT-40-ish w/grommets) looks pretty neat, though I don't know if I like it on the door panels... I did notice that they switched to a DSE wiper motor, and as Jody noted they have Pasqual's RS tail light trim/lenses on there. When you look at the car, you do get the impression that it was built in a hurry, there is that "sameness" of Foose characteristics to it. $125K? Not worth it even to those who could afford it, IMO. |

When looking at the pics on the web site of the members cars, they all look far better than this with a lot of care & attention to detail put into them. I guess it's because they're your pride & joy whereas this is just a profit making excercise. |
Well, it does say prototype on the Unique trim tag. Maybe they put this car out there for us to tell them what to change/not change before they go into production.
One thing that really jumps out at me (besides what's been said already), is the use of the stock valve covers. Sure, it's an awesome motor, but I can't imagine paying $125k for a car that has stock valve covers. I'd expect to see some kick ass Foose designed sheetmetal valve covers that would flow with the Hogan's intake. Chip, are you out there? :D Overall, it's a nice car, and one that I can see would be easy to mass produce. |
Maybe I missed it, but where/when were these pics taken?

Ya I took them yesterday, I was surprised to see them at Pleasanton...the show itself was pre-55 only so most of the "manufacturer's midway" stuff was all street rod oriented...
Scott I was thinking the same thing about the valve covers...I think they were kept on for the "572" wow factor...a lot of people were drawn to the engine mumbling "572...572..." like a scene from dawn of the dead. The car certainly did get a lot of attention. |

As to the rocker covers, IMO, there's no reason why they should keep the factory ones just 'cos they say "572". I'm sure Foose could design & manufacture some good looking covers with "572" on them, is it penny pinching? If it didn't have the name Foose attached to it, no-one would touch it at that money. Ok I'm getting off my soap box & getting my coat lol. |
I think part of the reasoning behind the valve covers may be to keep the engine LOOKING like what it is (a GMPP crate engine). Might be part of some sort of agreement between GMPP/Yr 1/Foose.
