thanks scott.
got the passenger kick panel block off plate done this week. http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...4_794776_n.jpg then i machined up some spacers for coil brackets since i am moving them off the valve cover. http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7174802_n.jpg then i TIGed up the "T"s and bolted everything together to check clearance. then cut 1/8" plate for a base then TIGed he "T"s to the plate. http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._6366112_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._1497124_n.jpg http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...2_668185_n.jpg then i mounted the drivers side packs to the frame. i'll mount the passenger set when i get the other fender off. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3514994_n.jpg then i took off the driver too and cut the hole for the door harness http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._1614266_n.jpg then i stripped the paint off in the area of the body side of the harness boot and cut the hole. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...4_427655_n.jpg http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...1_955335_n.jpg i think thats all for this week. currently i am stripping old paint so i can repair some more cancer that i have been putting off. then i can get the rest of the body stripped and finish welding some small things that need finished. |
Nice job on the coil mounts they look great.

Cool idea.

You just gotta love integrating the new into the old...
And it's amazing that when it's done right, clean, and tastefully, you would swear that it belonged there... Sweet...... |
Nice!
What did you steal the door harness from? |
greg, i used the entire harness from the 2001 camaro. i also did it on a '67 i built. it works out great because i have anti-theft, keyless entry, power locks, theater dimming lights and most important express down windows:yes:

Okay -- now that is pretty kool!
Did you go to a junkyard and strip it all out? Or? Seems to me you just bought yourself an Isis(?) system that will do all of that. |
both cars i just bought a totaled 4th gen SS. took everything i needed and parted out the rest then scraped the cars.
i was thinking the same thing about the ISIS system. people pay a ton of money for them when they can just use OEM stuff. what happens if they are on a road trip and something happens? i can just go to the local GM dealer and order parts. if you go back through this thread you can see where i wired the harness in. |
so my axles showed up monday. after dealing with the shop i got the suspension from since november about them i ordered a set from someone else.
http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._1995848_n.jpg they have ABS reluctor rings for the traction control/ABS http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4422688_n.jpg since everything measured up fine i could weld in the watts link bracket and put the car on the ground for the first time. http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._5890113_n.jpg http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7163328_n.jpg http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...5_641299_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7402794_n.jpg also finished up wiring in the front speed sensors http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._8167935_n.jpg also got the passenger side coil packs mounted http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3390101_n.jpg the corvette accessories arrived today, i traded my camaro stuff for his vette stuff. http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._6609317_n.jpg then i got the alternator wired up. had to rewire the factory harness since its different than the camaro wiring. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3406321_n.jpg been welding seams as well but those are not that exciting to see. |
Nice to see it moving along!
One thing at a time - and all of a sudden the list is a lot shorter! |
