Looks great man.
I wish it didn't snow in New England, or I would have a G8 myself. |
Vette update - I have been riding on 5+ year old Runcraps out back - mileage is unknown and have 3 different autocross days on them and at least 5k miles on them from just the Power Tour. Needless to say they are terrible in the rain and might be a bit bald, lol.
So after doing some research and being thrifty - I found a set of - new to me - Michelin Pilot Sport cup tires for the back - I can't complain for $200 shipped - sure they are used but for this deal - I should be able to get a year out of them. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMAG1506.jpg G8 update - I am not a fan of the polished aluminum center caps on the satin graphite wheels. So I placed an order with Eastwood - ordered a can of SEM trim black, and some fine line masking tape. I really can't complain about there service - I got the products in 2 days, I googled Eastwood coupon and found a 20% off coupon code, and best of all shipping was free. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...T/IMAG1509.jpg Now my question - does any a good suggestion on a degreaser? I haven't rattle canned anything in a long time, but what should I use to clean off these center caps before I spray bomb them? |
Thanksgiving update - Hope everyone had a great Turkey day!
On Black Friday, Charlotte Motor Speedway is open for laps if you donate $25 to the local Speedway Charity. The local Corvette club that I am in went to the track and there where 13 Corvettes in our group. Hanging in the back - you can really get up some good speed - I topped out at 130mph. Here are some GoPro vids. After having a great time around the speedway, I ordered some stuff online and picked it up at the store... http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMAG1523.jpg I picked up a set of air tools, drilling bits, a new shop light, and detailing stool. Time to get an air compressor, it never ends! LOL! |

Back to the Pontiac - I've been rolling around with out any center caps for awhile now, I finally got a chance to paint the caps with the SEM trim paint that I ordered a few weeks back.
I cleaned all the caps, then masked them off using fine line masking tape, then spray bombed them: Results below: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...T/IMAG1558.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...T/IMAG1561.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...T/IMAG1563.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...T/IMAG1565.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...T/IMAG1566.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...T/IMAG1571.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...T/IMAG1573.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...T/IMAG1578.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...T/IMAG1579.jpg |

I hope everyone will have a great happy holiday season!
Thought I would help spread the Christmas Spirit - my local Corvette club participates in a parade every year and throw candy to the kids. This year we threw out 40 pounds a candy and a few Power Tour hats this year. I filmed it this year with the GoPro - not very exciting stuff but should get you into the Christmas spirit. Also - went to a local "Cars and Coffee" event here in Charlotte and had a photographer taking pictures - he snapped this one of the G8. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...DSC6309-X3.jpg Not bad if I may say so myself... Everyone be safe and have a happy holidays! |
