Saturday's crowd around the big guns. I give these guys credit for having their very expensive toys out in the playground, and so easily accessible. All my pics are taken from safe camera distances, so interior and engine shots are a little compromised. I just shake my head when I see people poking themselves and their cameras in and over these cars. :( Of course they don't plan to slip and fall, or drop their sometimes expensive cameras, but **** happens and they don't realize what it would take to repair the damage. One a-hole who doesn't see the a-hole hovering over paint with a camera, bump, crash, bang, scratch , dent...

In my "Humble" opinion.......this is the kind of thing that killed a lot of interest in the Street Rodding area years ago as a lot of very talented people were so concerned with doing something different......that the builds became "Silly".....just to be different.......just my $.02
Classic styling done correctly......"Always" looks good.........

That's a double-sided coin though. Sticking too closely to that formula would mean most of the styles we enjoy today would never have been born. Builders and owners know that there is a chance it won't work, when they decide to test the limits - it's the nature of the game, and it's what keeps the industry fresh. "Every once in a while" a great athlete misses a shot... We tend to remember when they hit the game winners.

I followed the build thread of the green and white Ford pickup on the H.A.M.B.
pretty amazing, the entire pickup was hand made from aluminum!!

I admire the skill there!!!

the silver built from scratch hot rod with the crazy rotors was awe inspiring.
I over heard one of the builders say they had over 7000 hours in building the car. custom intake all from scratch, just a chunk of aluminum, rims, etc/
if I hear him correctly they made everything except the tires, caddy north star block, and 700r4 trans... to have the toys, and know how to use them, yes.... thats my dream:D

Yup - that was just mine too. ;) Np.

A note about the pics: I don't know how many of the 200 I posted so far, but they're all the best ones. I take pics to study what's going on in the industry, so a lot of times I have redundancies - just slight angle changes to see something else in parts, etc. I tried to pick the ones that showed the cars best, and help those who weren't there see what we saw.

More to come and I have some video of them at the ceremony.

The silver Rod was hand built by Rob Ida. His shop is about 40 mins north of ours. Rob is incredibly talanted and a friend. I had the pleasure of seeing that car in person in several stages of the build. Truely one piece of art.
