Kyle -- Silicone bronze rod is great for TIG on sheetmetal etc where it is NON STRUCTURAL.... it welds with lower heat - thus lowering the warp factor...

Awesome, thanks guys. I want to pick up a TIG soon so i'm trying to learn as i see fab pics.

Hey Guys,
Glad you guys like the work. Doing that kind of work is definately a challenge but having a good project owner like Payton makes a guy want to do his best. Probably the most challenging thing working on a project like this is that's it's a painted, running car, a very nice painted running car! So being careful is half the battle and the other half was trying to figure out how to get my old, half blind butt in and out of that trunk. Had it pretty much down to a science before it was done, but did almost get stuck once. Legs hanging out the trunk, pedal bewteen my knees and my head stuck with my helmet on, under the package tray, but did mange to get out after a lot of grunting and talking to myself...... Again, glad you like the work and thanks for the kind words...... |

W/silicon (note, there's no "e") bronze rod, It is not unlike gas brazing. You are simply using a different method of providing the heat. |
nice job
