That is the parking brake caliper mount bracket.

I had another 70 Camaro project getting media blasted and came back just before this firebird was going in and he saw how nice the body came out. It took him a few days to make the decision to go from and undercarriage to a full body blast. It took an extra week but it was well worth it.
It makes it much nicer surface to fabricate on. I was having issues during the DSE quad link install with rust contamination. I knew it would e even worst during the DSE tub reinstallation. Even if you prep and clean you may pull contaminants that is in or on the other side of the metal.

I would definitely go with the ram air hood. This was my favorite as well. Keep the back seat!

2nd gen back seats are almost non existant stock so compromising suspension and components design seems futile. There will be a use for it. Just not for and 5 ft tall 2 legged creatures.
