Mike is that with the Hooker engine mounts and cross member as well? Those headers seem to be sitting lower than what Hooker claims. Unless it is the angle of the picture.

Just confirmed with Keith that its 2 1/4 from f/floor to bottom of header.....So my "hooker" investment didn't pan out....Plus he just told me the March stuff is hitting the inner fenders...Not a good day for the blue car!

Shoulda bought the Wegner setup and left the Dynatechs alone, but now my subframe is powder coated to look at the bright side.....:G-Dub:

Hopefully todd will chime in and offer an explanation or option....

I would call Todd ASAP and ask him what's wrong. It's clearly different from what was displayed at Sema.

Yeah -- I wouldn't take that --- what they showed is clearly different from the product you received. Now add labor to that -- in and out and in and out.... That's not right.

1970 camero

At 2 1/4" off the ground it is drivable but will hit sometimes
My 70 Ta clone headers were 1 1/2" off the ground until I
raised the car.. now it is 2 1/4" better but not great... Pontiac headers for round
port heads with 3 1/2' collectors by Dougs.. will have to make
a set of customs some day as the tri-y's are no longer available

Car looks good

I'm hopin its what Hooker sold me on, was the fitmant of the headers, it wasnt all that bad before except the 2.375 of clearance.

Keith was telling me what was scratched up was the x pipe mounting was too low. Hopefully i've gained an inch or two but we'll see......

Yeah, the closer the low spot is to the tire the better. Tire goes over the obstacle and the header will go up too.

I think its just how the rack platform gives a false ground in the picture.

I was thinking about those new Hooker headers myself since they are for "maximum ground clearance" in the description. Reading all the articles I could only find pics of the 74-81 headers and a note saying they won't fit the 70-73 because they will hit the floor. This made me very nervous about them. Sorry you had to be the Guiney pig....and it's not working out.

I'm aware of the situation and will get things figured out for you Mike. I am not suspecting the engine mounts you were sent could have been the wrong ones...I'm exchange info/photos with Keith to get to the bottom of it.
