Deciding on a location for the Cyclone scoop, and prepping it. It was boogered up and needed glass in the corners, and holes filled.
Had to cut a hole in the hood a few inches smaller than the seal. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...s67c64aad.jpeg http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...s964ea094.jpeg http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps9b1bed26.jpg |
I made a tunnel cover out of fiberglass for the TKO since I am not so good on the "english wheel" :lmao:

I had to cut out some bracing, form a ring from 18 gauge, weld it back in to strengthen the bracing, etc. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps3ea6985c.jpg Working on the outside of the hood now,it was dented up, and fixing the glass on the Cyclone scoop. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...pse88ba75a.jpg http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...pse20fe749.jpg An took it out for a test drive, don't have enough miles on the TKO to do an all out "smoke the tires" burn out, but was able to do a rolling burnout, and chirp second! http://vid144.photobucket.com/albums...psrpwxt3xz.mp4 |
Wheels and Tires....
Got a MINT set of these from Dave (nopants68) for Kasey's 63 and she snubbed her nose at them. I was like they would be cool on your car, she said no thanks, so I am putting them on mine. Need some steelies, but can only find these... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wv...2518/overview/ From previous conversation FE Torino said "In the rear your tire is the same height as my 345 30 19 so it will tuck in and fill your wheel well really nice. FYI without tubs and with about 5.75" to 6" of BS you can fit a 285 tire on the rear of your car with the leaf springs. Up front the shape of the fender lip makes it difficult to slam the car and get a good turning radius with a wide tire. Typically most tires on the front of the cars you see on here are 25.5" to 26" tall. With your GW stuff I bet you can drop the front about 2" and still get decent turn radius with a 27" tall tire at 235mm wide, if the BS on the wheels is right. The taller tire will actually tuck up farther in the fender and give a more lowered look. AND A 285 fits out back with leaf springs and no tubs I did a 285 17 on teh rear of mine for the first time around. I think a 275 40 18 for the rear and a 255 35/40 18 for the front on 18x10s. That's 25"/26" tall front and 26.5" tall rear. They will fill the wheel wells up. I had a 245 on a 8.5" wheel up front with my shock tower suspension so I'm sure you can fit the 255 as long as the car isn't super slammed. Currently have 235-60-16 http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps50009804.jpg Going for this look http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps292b435d.jpg This 68 pictured has 17 x 9's all around. 245/45's up front and 275/40's in the back http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...psa0440ab9.jpg With that said will a 285 fit on a 9" wheel? I currently have 5" backspace on my Cragar's, and what do I make of this offset calc? Backspacing (in):5.125 in. Offset:+3.00mm Thanks, Joe |
That's going to look good Joe!!

Probably be a while,I am also trying to work a deal on a 408 W short block. I just picked up some World Sr. ported heads with 2.02 valves. Working on a home remodel, Kasey's car, and my Daughter Rachael is getting married at our house in August, lol. reminds me of the movie "No time for Sargeant's" and my wife is the DI :military: :twak: |

I bought the aftermarket ram-air from James on the Torino Cobra forum. I bought the lid from Semo Mustang, and a WIX filter. James allows you to delete things you don't need. He has his own website with different versions. It's a blow molded injection part . I sanded, primed, wet sanded, painted, repeat, rinse, on mine  http://fastlaneinnovations.com/ Joe |
Just found this build thread Joe. That hood pan is cool as hell! Make me one for my car will ya?! Cars lookin good man, Ron

Thanks Ron, you need to start a build thread on your car, even though it's virtually done. Unless you are planning even more changes?
I think the guys on here would love it. Joe |
Well last week I plunked down a large down payment to get my motor built.
After weeks of surfing, asking questions, etc I decided on a Fordstrokers.COM 427 Dart SHP block 4.125 bore X 4.0 stroke Specs are here http://www.fordstrokers.com/dart-bas...-shortblocks-/ http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps9zzus3oi.jpg Going to run a Horsepower Innovation e85 Holley, about 12:1 compression. e85 is plentiful here. A Super Victor if it will fit under my hood. Jim Wood is known for doing only 302/351W based motors so I am excited. Shooting for 500+ HP ~ 500 Torque More to come :flashie: Joe |
