lookin good!!

syborg tt 10-01-2006 08:27 PM

Good Morning All,

Dave and I came up with an idea of a Removable Tie Down.
We wanted something that could be removed during a show or while driving on the street.
Once the frame is painted you won't even notice it.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_28_001.jpg

Dave began working on the air inlet ducts.
We plan to draw air in from the factory driving lights.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_28_003.jpg

We going to extend the wheel well to complete the inner fender

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_28_010.jpg

Dave started working on the belly pan for the rear.
The strings gives you an idea of what the center will look at.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_28_011.jpg

Just a rear view
It actually looks like the center is lower then the end panels it's not - just an illusion

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_28_006.jpg

More to come next week.

I was almost going to post these on Friday and then because of a previous post i decided to wait till monday. I did however spend about 4 hours at Rad Rides on Saturday took so really cool pics of the biscayne and worked on the rendering for both of our cars.

Joe

I have learned so much just by looking at other cars being built. This forum and a few otheres have inspired me to build the best that i can afford without my wife killing me. I've learned more about building cars then i thought was possible.

Thanks again

Yep Bell Tech Bar - I have one on my other GT and it handles a little better. However it sits just a little lower

Happy Monday Morning.

Big Updates this week looks like I am going to split this update into multiple e-mails.

Starting with the bed.
The rear belly pan is almost complete.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_014.jpg

2nd shot - show's off the air ride tank and hardware

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_016.jpg

Side View

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_017.jpg

This is what the back side of the wheel well looks like.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_018.jpg

Looking back from the inside of the wheel well

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_019.jpg

syborg tt 10-08-2006 10:00 PM

This is what we are planning to do the front of the wheel well.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_022.jpg

This is what it would look like if we didn't modify it.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_027.jpg

Dave finally trimmed the inner fender to expose the frame.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_024.jpg

More to come in another e-mail.

syborg tt 10-08-2006 10:01 PM

Okay like I said Dave accomplished a bunch of work this week.

Air goes in the driving light.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_005.jpg

Curves up to the Airbox.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_006.jpg

Here is where it meets the Airbox.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_007.jpg

Yet another little detail that needs to addressed

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_013.jpg

Where going to extend the inner fender to cover the mounting hardware for the GT's Cladding.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_012.jpg

syborg tt 10-08-2006 10:01 PM

While were at the front of the truck.
We finally found a suitable location for the overflow bottle behind the core support.
Yep it's a scary home but it works.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_028.jpg

Yep it's tight in there but we can still view the tank from above.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_029.jpg

one more post and i'm going to bed

syborg tt 10-08-2006 10:02 PM

Okay like I said Dave did a bunch this week.

However i actually did this update.

First I want to Thank Caleb Davis for locating a Supplier on a Saturday
that would have a smooth tailgate in stock and willing to wait for me to pick it up.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_032.jpg

Okay time to cut it up and install the handle relocate kit from LMC Truck.
PS - man is this a nice kit.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_034.jpg

Back View

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_035.jpg

First Cut the Opening.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_041.jpg

Next Drill 14 holes without drilling into your hand.
Mount relocated handle.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_07_042.jpg

Really that's it for this week.

How much bigger are the belltechs vs the zq8 sway bars? Would I see much improvement over the zq8? Also my truck is dropped 5/6.

couldn't tell you for sure. I can measure mine and see if you can find a zq8 truck. I know that some of the guy's on S-Series have swapped out for the bell techs.

Good Morning All,

Last Week sure was a busy one.
Headed down to Ar Kansas to see the progress on Dad's 57.
Check out the link.

Dave was able to complete most of the tin work for the Bed.
Without this piece it would have looked incomplete.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_018.jpg

View from the underside.
This was a tough picture to take since it was sitting on the floor.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_015.jpg

Mounted the charcoal canister.
I don't want my garage to smell like fuel.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_008.jpg

syborg tt 10-15-2006 07:08 PM

Instead of making the bracket simple.
Dave took the time to make it pretty and simple.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_012.jpg

The linkage is all hooked back up.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_005.jpg

You can see the bell crank that we are using to change the pull.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_001.jpg

Cable come out parallel to the manifold.
Still one more bracket to make on the Manifold
and one on the firewall.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_007.jpg

syborg tt 10-15-2006 07:09 PM

Just a Quick look through the Back Wheel

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_020.jpg

Have to keep the family involved.
We had my daughter tape up the Billet Specialties Column.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_028.jpg

We are trying to lay out the gauges and switches.
Also include will be a Cig lighter for the needed Radar Detector.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_023.jpg

Just a design layout for the Dash. Nothing is set in stone.
We are going to wait to see what Bob Thrash comes up with.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_025.jpg

syborg tt 10-15-2006 07:09 PM

Found a suitable location for the American Auto Wire Highway 22 Harness.
This is a very nice kit indeed. Can't wait to wire it.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_030.jpg

Also found the location for the MSD box. But forgot to take the picture.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_14_031.jpg

I quess your going to have to wait till next week to see where we mount that.

black2002ls 10-16-2006 07:03 PM

looking good marty.

Mike Hall 10-16-2006 10:04 PM

Quick Update.

I flew down to Ar-Kansas over the weekend to meet with Kenny & the guy's at Kenny Davis Hot Rods. I have a little medical problem which is going to delay the build. Seems the Doctors feel it's important for them to remove the tumor in my neck something about cancer. Which means this is going to delay the truck by 4 weeks which puts it ready for paint in Late December. This is about the time the Riddler car will be ready for paint and bodywork at Troy's. So my truck would be delayed by at least two months waiting to get into Rad Rides body shop. So I needed to find a painter that is comprable in my eye's. Thus the reason I choose Kenny, I feel like this is going to be a very good Match.

The main reason I don't want to delay the truck by another 2 months is i want to make sure it's ready for Hvaoc in 07 and i actually make it to Sema in 07.

3 weeks from today i'll be in surgery and the bad news is i won't be able to talk for 3 day's - EAK !! and if you know me this is going to be very hard for me. My wife told me she is looking forward to the peace and quiet.

AAW 10-18-2006 05:15 AM

Take care of you first Marty! The Truck comes later. Good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery.

XcYZ 10-18-2006 05:46 AM

Good luck, Marty. Hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery.

Budweasel 10-18-2006 11:35 AM

Marty, take care of yourself. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
