Bringing this to the top so we can hear how it did at OUSCI. Wanna know if B&B and Speedtech had those Novas representing :D

Looked great at SEMA based on the pics I've seen so far.

Vegas69 11-07-2010 05:39 PM

Flash68 11-07-2010 07:32 PM

Man I loved this Nova. One of my favorite cars at Optima.

Great job Billy and nice meeting you. Here's a quick crappy video from the Speed Stop challenge I took.

I think he's actually 25! Wow.

72novadriver 11-08-2010 12:52 PM

Thanks Guys, It was great meeting all of you. I had an absolute blast out there and finally being able to put some road miles on the car was good too. I don't really now how I did in standings or time wise. My main goal was to keep the car out of the gravel. Accomplished that so I was thrilled :D Here is a video clip from one of the laps.

wiedemab 11-08-2010 12:58 PM

Nice Billy - glad to see you stay out of the gravel! I would have loved to have been there to cheer everyone on, but I couldn't make it happen this year.

Thanks for the video.

Flash68 11-08-2010 08:57 PM

Awesome vid Billy. Congrats on a nice showing. You tied for 24th overall.

I seriously cannot believe this car didn't get any design points.

No doubt! I'd like to see a pic of the 15 cars that got points. Most of which I don't recognize by just the name.

Nick 11-12-2010 07:55 AM

Just went through the whole Thread, and I got to say... WOW, Gorgeous!!!

Love the detail work.

Billy got 20th for 0 points the results say although it shows him one out of the points and the last placing position was 15 so who knows what that is about.

Thats what I was thinking. Maybe you had to be somewhere at a certin time and Billy did not make it??

Vegas69 11-13-2010 08:16 AM

They judged the cars at the Optima Challenge. It's like any other car show, it's normally the loud cars that get the points. Meaning, bright colors. The second place car was a 60's vette with a candy apple paint job. It was nice, but I don't think it deserved 2nd place.

BBC71Nova 11-10-2011 01:50 PM

HA! That's an awesome question and idea :). Billy's tired of me asking him.

I REALLY REALLY want one but DSE won't do it is my understanding. I talked to Dan about fab'ing one up for me but it was cost prohibitive to do a one-off. I even considered getting a DSE Camaro piece as a starting point. After looking at it more and talking to Billy it just looked to be too much work to reform that right side and the top since those 2 areas are a good bit different between the Camaro and Nova even though the dash structure is very similar.

I still hold out hope that someone can convince Kyle/Stacy to show us Nova guys some love...

coolwelder62 11-10-2011 05:05 PM

I have seen some where someone is doing these.

I had a talk with Kyle at the open house, about this, and he told me that he is 99% sure that they will not do the nova dash. He did tell me he made a jig a few years back. I had cash in hand to pay for a dash, still said nope. I even asked if i could rent the jig.

I found a guy that makes a one,

I think you can just make it out on top of the gauge...RacePak

frojoe 10-12-2012 12:04 PM

Any updates on how's she's driving, what you're raced, any planned updates?

Your Nova was the single biggest influence on mine. Your stance, not to mention the fact that it's that low at regular ride height, on coilovers, was super inspirational, and is what made me slug thru all the hours of fab work to get mine at a lower ride height than normal with no rubbing and fully driveable, albeit not as extremely low as yours. Cheers!

One of the top two or three Novas of all time. Beautiful work, I want to send my car to ya!

Moabdude 12-23-2012 04:40 AM

Racepak

Amazing build!
How do you like the Racepak dash?
Would you buy it again?
Is it difficult to hook up compared to Autometer gauges?
