Holy Jamoly! The amount of work that has gone into this car is amazing! And the amount of thought is even more astounding! :wow:
Now, about the amount of mirth... :D Shiny Side Up! Bill |
Wow, you guys have done a LOT to make this one not "just another" '69 Camaro. This is the best Camaro build I've ever laid eyes on! Incredible fabrication.
|
Thanks for all the compliments, Dave has allowed us to take the car to this point. There is a considerable amount of work in a car at this level of quality. There has been a ton of planning and engineering so that nothing looks likes an after thought.
Thanks again |
Where are the updates??
|
We have been keeping some things under wraps on this car. We thought that some other projects being built were stealing some of the design ideas and we wanted to keep it under wraps. We are still working o some sheetmetal mods on both the exterior and interior. The back end of this car is insane. I will see of we can post up a few teaser shots.
|
Wow! This thing is insane!!!! Beautiful work. :hail:
|
looking forward to it
|
I'm glad this car is still being built. So many fantastic ideas being incorporated into the build. Are there any plans for a reveal date?

The car is coming along but it is not on any type of fast track. I'm just glad people are still interested in the project. |
Completely understand Rodger, and I'm glad it's not being rushed just so it can be revealed at a show or win and award. Quality takes time. Keep up the good work I'm sure you guys are doing on it.

Any updates?????

Due to some pretty major family drama, Dave the owner of the car is forced to sell this project to get as much money together as possible to help with some cash that is needed for the family drama . Since most of you may not want to go back through how ever many pages to see the details. I will post up some pictures.
I will not post up the price they are looking to get as the real price really included in the cost to complete and with the level this car was built toward that can be really expensive. The car is currently semi permanently attached to a chassis table that is to wide to ship and cutting the car off the table would ruin the car. It need work just to get it off the chassis table. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...uly2011022.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...uly2011015.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...uly2011014.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...uly2011021.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ril2011023.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...l2011006-2.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...l2011004-2.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ary2011033.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ary2011032.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...psc0b1315e.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps4fdf6bc0.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps6c371b9b.jpg We were beginning to start on the front end of the car now that the sheetmetal was now in place. The car was designed to run a 295-315 / 19" front tire and a 335/20 rear tire. It has 4.75" of ground clearance and is 47" to the roof if memory serves me correct. This car was built to raise the bar. We have tried to keep it pretty quiet, but now due to the family issues the car needs to be sold. The car is to be sold to someone who would continue the work on the car and the level of finish can still be determined by the customer, but unless your going to make a rat rod out of it, it will still be expensive. If your serious about something like this email me direct. [email protected] Rodger |
That's to bad i was really looking forward to seeing this car finished.
|
Now that this project is to this crossroads. We can make the rendering public as the new owner will surely have his own ideas to bring to the table.
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps05763cd4.jpg The color was supposed to be pretty close to an antifreeze green color. |

It will still get finished, I just hoping it will be by an new owner and not by me. Even though I'm considering it. I have to sell some cars to thin the heard. I have bought too many good deals lately. I have had quite a few people show serious interest. |
Dayum, that sucks. :( Someone will step up and keep the dream going.
Jeff- |
Sorry to hear about Dave's situation. It's always difficult to pry your hands off your dream car and give it up for any reason...
Wishing Dave the best of luck in a speedy resolution to the issue !!! :lateral: Jim |
Apologies for mucking up the thread with a random question, but you obviously keep bare metal around for awhile. What is your process for protecting it ? Do you use a metal prep spray like Troy sells or just oil and elbow grease ?

We have a part time guy that is from BARC (Bakersfield Association of Retarded Citizens) that keeps everything in the shop clean. One job is to sand down the cars on a regular basis. |
How unfortunate! Such potential with this build.
|
The rendering is beautiful. Someone will get it and finish it the right way. Good luck and whatever brother Dave is going thru I hope and pray it gets better.

I hope Dave is able to pull through whatever he and his family are facing. Good luck on the sale. I love the rendering.
|
Did this beautiful monstrosity ever sale? If so, to who?

The customer has few of his own ideas for the project and I'm sure it will take on the new owners vision but the old one will not be lost. I'm pretty excited to see it move forward. |

That is the plan. I will see how much the owner wants to share. Alot of my customers now days like to keep somethings under wraps. :thankyou: |
That's good news indeed! Glad to know the car will be built. Hopefully the new owner will allow us to watch it come together.
|
That sure is one sick ride, good to hear their expertise and hard work will continue on this project. Just like the 66 Nova that Ironworks is building too.
Can't wait to see either one of them stalking the streets. |
Man... I love this build. Can't wait to see how it turns out!!
|
Thanks Josh. We should finalize the deal this week. Hope to get it in the mix very soon somehow in the shop.
See ya in Del Mar in a few weeks. |
This build is phenominal. Maybe best custom rear on a camaro ive seen. Of course, if Ben had something to do with it, I'm not surprised. Great work guys.
|
Well the project is officially under new ownership and will get back in the mix for continued work. Check out this wheel mock up with the Gripp Equipped Drop kick wheels. Pretty sexy.

Congrats Rodger! Glad to hear its back in the rotation, look forward to the progress.
|
Can't wait too see more pics of this car.
|
I will be on the lookout for more inspiration to come.
