So glad you are doing this. "STANCE" is more than just a side profile. Others would have simply narrowed the rear, mini tubb'd, and sucked the tires under the car to make them fit. Though it looks impressive, its nowhere near as impressive in my mind as a wider "STANCE" made possible by pushing the tires out towards the edge.

Chris, thanks for the compliments towards Brett. This was forced upon him in some ways---but he always seems to find a way to overcome whatever the issue is. In this case the wheels had to be spaced out .25 to clear the new brakes---who woulda thought since the fronts clear just fine---but Brett is persistent and always seems to find the way through to make it work. Hopefully, the biggest challenges are now behind us and reassembly will be mostly straight forward.

thanks Tones! Can't wait to see the finished product! I mostly did it because I couldn't handle the drum brake questions any longer. Brett and I came up with a good response that I continued to use up until the car went under the knife----"I'm testing these one off mono-block drums from Baer and it's cured my knockback problem". "Just waiting to convert the fronts now".

Most people asked what a mono-block was--:getout:

So, at least brakes match now--and the Chicayne Speedtech Floater will take care of any knockback problems I may have had. I have to say, I will miss being part of the drum brake one legged Jihad team (DBOLJ). I'm no longer original.

Amazing stuff Doug and Brett!

Dude--good to see you on here! I won't ask about the line of motors at Mast--but hope you will comment on where yours might be in that lineup anyways. After that it's time for some track days and having some serious fun with these things.

Blake called.... he's looking for a fabricator.:poke:

If you've never been to St. George, Utah (near Vegas!) you owe it to yourself to drop in and see them. Nice town -- Great company.

Came out clean brother----great, great idea and even better execution of it. I'm just going to put up on jackstands when I get it back and just look at it all for a couple of weeks to take it all in.

Why not do a mini tub now? You kinda have a junior mini tub from the looks of it.

Beautiful car, and the drag car, ummm wow!

We'll get to that part. I'm working off of a plan for the car and sticking to it. We probably could have made it work, but time isn't on our side as we are trying to make an event the first week of Sept. Stay tuned for the mini tub.

Awesome work. Thanks for posting all the pics, I'm studying them carefully. I'm installing the Speedtech setup on my '72 now and have the same issue as you with the front crossmember. I welded DSE connectors with 1/2 height body mounts a long time ago so I'm screwed in trying to get the crossmember in place without a lot of work...

Thanks Gerno, I've been there before searching the internet for some inspiration or information..... and I always like the pictures that go with the story when I'm looking. So, It's one of the main reasons I like writing about the projects I do and also including enough pictures that the story almost tells itself.

PS. more to come tonight, just uploading now.

Dude get off dial up and step into the present:underchair:

So I went by Fab 53 and we got the car down on the ground. It's hard to believe, but Brett got the car to sit another inch lower. Insane. It's smooth and sinister looking at the same time. Exhaust is up on the punch list next and Fab 53 is knocking it out of the park. Awesome work Brett. Thanks again.
