No big deal. I'm getting ready to try and fit my factory ac (ls conversion) in the stock location on my 70 c10.

They don't fit very well down by the frame w/o cutting. I was looking @ this one when planning the swap for a 6.0 I bought. They show 'truck/2010 camaro' as one option so they might be very close....

Stainless Tanks

So, we were about to start fabricating covers for the front inner wells to radiator support & got this idea that will kill two birds with one stone..

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1372.jpg

How about a coolant over flow tank & power steering tank out of stainless with a few machined pcs... Working on mount brackets right now.. will post a pic later of it mounted..

One thing I have learned about plumbing & making custom tanks.. is make tanks.. Wait till you have everything mounted & pre-run lines before you weld mounting bungs to tanks..

Here is the mock of what things will be looking like.. I gave myself enough room to run A/C lines thru the bottom.. We need to build a bulk to retain all fittings..

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1374.jpg

Here is an idea of what the pass side plumbing came out like.. the fuel lines are done, oil filler tube is on the firewall, oil breather can is plumbed..

Got some mock up prototype pcs on the driver side.. If not I would give you a full shot of the engine bay..

Hey Cris,
Is vibration going to be any issue with the hard mounts on those coolers up front? I was thinking the softer materials they are made from may fatigue over time and crack. Or is there a rubber spacer I am not seeing on my tiny phone screen?

Cris@JCG 08-04-2011 02:00 PM

Eric- Rubber mounting pads are included when you buy the Setrab coolers.. I need to machine slots on the machined brackets to get them in their...

Ok, got it.

I like the way you mounted them. Are those side plates your design?

Cris@JCG 08-04-2011 03:53 PM

Some thing we whipped up on pcs of cardboard & machined real quick.. If I had to do them over again I would make a few changes.. plus need to add a top bracket on the oil cooler for added strength on the mount..

Another pic for you Eric..

Thank you Greg! but those details kill me with amount of time I spend thinking about how the hell I am going to get from point A to B!!

For example! These tanks caused some sleepless nights! But I luv the the final outcome!

Man Cris, those tanks sure turned out nice. Yeah, you might ought to brace the tops of those coolers incase BB goes motoxing or takes a cone to the snout.

waynieZ 08-05-2011 06:20 PM

WOW is all I can say!

Cris@JCG 08-06-2011 12:15 PM

Prototype A/C brackets! Fitted them up today.. Got a few modifications to do & we are set... Working on a distribution block for the A/C lines to give us a better transition to the A/C lines..

BTW- WOrking on matching alternator to power steering brackets.. This whole system will use all the factory Corvette Accy components.. Just making it look better..

Starting with the stretching off the front and rear fenders/qtrs to all the other fab and plumbing, you guys are really setting the bar high on this car.

Build book material IMO.

Frankenstine 08-16-2011 11:25 AM

Unbelievable fab work guys, Question? Any way you guys might produce a kold air kit either u weld it or rivet together like that or similar, for a 69 ls motor with a stock or aftermarket radiator and support? that thing is SICK,

Cris@JCG 08-16-2011 05:34 PM

Anvil Auto

I have to give thanks to Tracy & Matt today from Anvil Auto... Tracy was here @ my shop this morning @ 7 AM with a truck full of parts to fit panels that would fit the car the best.. The owner wanted the whole center of the nose with exposed carbon.. & wanted the lines to be the best that could get them without messing with carbon.. We spent the whole day getting them to fit & modifying mounting points.. We will have a few areas on the metal that we will cut to flow with the lines..

The Ringbrothers hood hinges worked & look bitching!

I got more items coming for the engine bay! In design tonite.. Water jet on Thursday..

THanks for the compliments.. @ this time I will have to say that we would not be able to another cold air box like this.. All parts that I am doing right now.. I consider them prototypes & we are still proofing them.. But will let you know if we do decide to do them in a small production lot..
