Thanks - one of my faves too. This was one of the first pics I took of the car when I originally bought it.

Here is the before & after

No haven't been able to get back out to the track. Mother-in-law has been very ill so haven't been able to sneak away. Looking forward to it though. Hope to get out there before the end of the season.

Menacing and Merciless... I like that. :D

Yeah the grille was a killer. Chris has 5 or 6 that didn't work out. He used a Pullmax to make the cross bars and it was a real pain to get every hole to line up on each bend but he finally got it.

I'll tell ya, it is one hell of a bug catcher too. :hairpullout:

You nailed it man. That before and after photo really says it all---especially how much work went into this car. It's the best front end i've ever seen on a 69. It looks elegant and aggressive at the same time---and it sounds pretty stout from the video. You have to be pumped. I love that you took it to the track already---that is way cool. Looking forward to doing same in mine once I get the new motor in there. Great job bro.

flashlight holder 11-07-2013 07:57 AM

Hi,

I was wondering if your car is going to be at Pleasanton this weekend? I was thinking of taking my brother so he could see what I played with at the shop :)

I almost forgot to ask. If their is a road course set up....will you be taking it out for a spin :)

Take Care,

Joe

Richio1 11-07-2013 11:02 PM

Hi Joe - yeah I am planning on being there Sat. and will be running the auto-x. :drive:

Mother-in-law is ill so as long as she is doing ok and I get the green light from the boss I'll be there. :goodguys:

flashlight holder 11-08-2013 09:01 PM

I won't be their until Sunday because I want to see John's Camaro driving out the building instead of being pushed every where. I mean....going on 6 years and still not running that's crazy. It's a Camaro for god sakes...LOL

Good Luck with the road course on Saturday....I hope someone films it and you posted in on here :)

Hey thanks for rubbing it in.

flashlight holder 11-11-2013 08:54 AM

I'm sorry for my Comments John. I know you want your car done so you can be enjoying it like Jeff. Maybe it's time to move your car to a shop that can get you on the road.

I just keep hearing what he told you on the time frame for it to be on the road and that's way over due.

AHHH. the talkers.

There are two different kinds of people in this business. Those who talk about what they can do, and those who show what they can do.

Richio1 01-07-2014 08:23 PM

Took advantage of the great weather here in CA. to break in the new GoPro. Here is my first video shot while taking a quick drive running through the gears around the valley last weekend.

I'm really excited about the GoPro and learning how to use it. I've seen so many really cool videos on YouTube. I'm looking forward to experimenting and playing with it. I need a few more mounts to shoot different angles.

Used the GoPro Studio editing software. Still have a lot to learn so they will only get better.

Gotta love the Borla's. They sound soooo much better in person. Everything in the video was about 3/4 throttle. :D

Now I understand what people meant when they said, "who needs a stereo when you can listen to this every time you go out for a drive". Most of the time I don't even turn it on now.

Great move with the drive-overs!

Richio1 01-07-2014 11:35 PM

Thanks guys. Fun stuff. Another new toy to take up more of my time.. LOL

So much to figure out with the GoPro editing. I get lost on YouTube looking at all the cool videos people have shot. I have a lot of ideas, now just need to play with it more.

Glad I went with the 3+ Silver. Great quality for such a small camera.

Only thing that bugs me is the cracking noise when its in the case. In a couple of the shots I had it in the case mounted to the rear window and you can hear the cracking. It muffles the sound too. I took it out to see what difference it made. Got rid of the cracking but fell over when sitting on the dash. LOL

Jeff, not sure if the new 3+ is the same as the old Hero I got from a few years ago but if you're talking about the unit not being absolutely tight in the plastic case which causes that noise, I found a fix of putting a few layers of painters tape on a couple sides to tighten it up in there and the issue went away.

Ricochet 01-08-2014 07:26 AM

Great job Jeff!! Said it once and say it again - car is awesome in every aspect!

Hey Jody, it was great meeting you guys this weekend. It was nice to out a face with the name.

It was fun hanging out and running in to a few guys from the forum. I saw a handful of guys wearing the the world famous Lat-G shirts.

The West Coast Auto Craft guys did pretty well with their 3 cars there. The red 37 Chevy took 1st place, the green Edsel took 2nd and I walked with a pair. I was very happy after being placed in the Full Custom Hardtop class.

Some fantastic cars there for sure. Always a great time.
