Flash68 08-13-2013 12:23 AM

Jay Gatsby would be proud to drive that car. :peepwall:

GregWeld 08-13-2013 06:29 AM

Isn't it amazing how just a simple wheel and tire change --- can change the entire car?!?!?!

It went from this......

Personally -- there's nothing worse than wide whites.... HAHAHAHA OMG I can't stand them! I almost didn't post up the pics because the car went from "traditional with attitude" to "traditional with absolutely nothing going for it"!!

Hello......................... Greg,

:hello:

Those phat whites on yer lil '33 do give widewhiteys a bad name.

In the spirit of fairness and balance, here is some rightwhite Radattitude.

waynieZ 08-13-2013 07:05 AM

The hood came out great it flows right with the body lines. Its going to be sweet to see it in color!

GregWeld 08-13-2013 07:08 AM

How dare you post that nastiness in my thread! What a waste of metal and paint....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

GW calling SSFS-'This is Greg Weld, I'd like to talk to the pre-paint spare wheel dept. I have a complaint.'

SSFS-'Greg, glad you called. HQ wanted to tell you how little prep work your car needs to get it ready for paint. Man, that will save of uh.. how do you pro-touring posers say it, a lot of :G-Dub:?'

SSFS- 'So, what was your complaint?'

GW- 'Really, I'll save how much?!

Uh, I uh wanted to complain about the traffic in your area when I'm allowed to visit.'

:sarcasm_smiley:

Ok...back to black(walls).

:D

Payton King 08-13-2013 09:52 AM

I see what you are writing about

on the wheel change, but I think the addition of the hood and sides took a the raw look away from it as well.

I would have to drive it both ways...engine covered and not covered and put those wheels back on.

Lenie 08-13-2013 01:17 PM

Greg, this pic is just sic, one badazzzz ride. For me, this pic would almost be the end result... It just looks nasty I'm tellin' ya!!! Hooty hoo

I used this exact car as an example of what I wanted when we first started this project... I just didn't want the Ferrari motor!!

The rail and body is "proper" on this one isn't it?

I'd like to hear and ride in that with the Ferrari motor.........but wouldn't care for the maintenance/liability issues. That said, it is a very cool car!

GregWeld 08-22-2013 06:23 PM

Some updates --- although it does appear that Rob took these with his cell phone....

The little whoopteedo at the bottom of the dash is a direct knock off of what Vic Edelbrocks newest '32 has -- it's for the A/C controls....

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...io/file-55.jpg

Typical Swan neck mirrors --- nothing earth shattering here!!

One on each side. This is a DRIVER --- not a show car trailer queen... old folks gotta be able to see to change lanes!

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...io/file-57.jpg

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...io/file-53.jpg

Slash cut tail pipes..... and I think the rolled pan is supposed to have louvers... so mentioned that to Roy when I got these pics today.

SW -- Did you see that I've gone bonkers and bought a LOTUS 2 Eleven??

Any experience with one??

Payton King 08-23-2013 05:26 AM

Lookin' good GW

What is the scheduled completion date?

NOPANTS68 08-23-2013 07:00 AM

Man that quick change looks awesome under there. It's the last thing I wanna do to my '29 but the 4 bar won't allow it, therefore I'm jealous. lol

So-Cal hit a home run when they came out with those mirrors. they're popular for a reason. Looks sweet Greg!

waynieZ 08-23-2013 12:44 PM

I'm with you on the mirrors Greg, The ones on my Camaro are tuff for me to see. I'm used to my Tahoe mirrors. The car is going to be sweet.

Richio1 08-23-2013 09:34 PM

Coming down this weekend? A lot of very cool roadsters.

No I'm not Jeff --- If I'd have planned better - I would have....

Find Roy and tell him you think my Speed '33 sucks... and that he takes HORRIBLE PHOTOS!!!

That's his '32 -- which has 75,000 miles on it!!!

Next year for sure!!!!

GregWeld 09-12-2013 03:26 PM

The car is going to paint now.... THESE are the correct wheels minus the rim/lip polishing which still needs to be done.

I've been asked about the front spreader bar --- to chrome it and have it bolt in -- or weld in and be painted. My taste says to weld it in and paint it body color...

Streetking 09-12-2013 04:03 PM

Looks really sweet Greg. You have a special seat so you can see through the windshield?:)

JB64CHEVELLE 09-12-2013 04:58 PM

Very nice! Is it going to his brother in-law for paint?

Vince@Meanstreets 09-12-2013 05:17 PM

Custom Telephone book that Ironworks made for me! And then if that's not enough - I have that pink childs seat that came with the Mustang.

Yes, as far as I know, he paints all the cars. Sid Chavers will handle the upholstery... but I'm going to have him do some pretty kool stuff - not his usual 2" tuck and roll. HA!

camcojb 09-12-2013 05:31 PM

Man, that's a slick car!

Thanks Jody! It'll look better with the headlights etc mounted -- but so far The Briz is just knocking it out. I just wanted a super simple driver -- thus the LS motor -- Automatic trans -- and nothing fancy or custom. It should fill the bill!!

ccracin 09-12-2013 05:52 PM

Very nice Greg! You deserve this experience after the other!

Well -- maybe I "deserved" the other idiot -- since I was dumb enough to pick him without doing any due diligence.... But thank you and yeah --- super happy the way this is all going.

Thanks buddy! So does your pipe welding!

Grille and front axle and hairpins will all be chromed... Thus the idea that the spreader would be better painted body color. The headlights will be body color with chrome bezels. Super simple car -- just some paint and a little chrome.

The wheels will be "magnesium" looking in the centers with polished rims... and the knockoff spinners will be polished. Same as Tom Gloy's baby blue SROTY '32 (since I stole - with permission - the wheel design and builder from him).

This car is going to knock people's socks off!
