Man, that last one with the baby about 10 feet up in the air---I am very, very guilty of that one. No drops mind you, but guilty.

So, don't ask me to babysit.

I spent 20 years being "Mister Mom"....

Take the kids to the store -- all the Mommy's are talking to their little kids in the shopping cart that are grabbing crap off the shelves when she's not looking - and the proper Mommy response is "Now little Charlotte... please don't... you know Mommy doesn't like you to do that". My response to my kids -- "hey! You touch that crap again I'll break your arm off"!

I once helped Adrienne and her girlfriend with their 4th grade math homework. They both got F's. I hate the "new math". It's so unnecessary! All you ever use is addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. Tell me one time you ever used "new math" to do anything except to finance a car.

My kids grew up just fine... and prison food isn't as bad as they said it was. They looked like they never missed many meals.

That is too funny.

My grown daughter is a school teacher and very "old school & conservative."
When I tell her about getting my butt whooped or my hand smacked for getting out of line in class ... she says ... "aw ... the good ole days."

Why is this question continuously skipped over here and in other threads? If we're supposed to be more community oriented then why the secrecy and cliquish behavior? I'm not looking for intimate details, and I doubt anyone else is either. If a falling out occurred, fine. It happens and is no big deal. If Bret has asked for privacy for whatever reason and no longer wishes to be apart of this community, that's fine as well of course. The ignoring of his absence and behavior, ie him deleting all the pictures, and acting as if he didn't exist at all is, quite frankly, annoying as hell. I'm not calling Dave or Doug out on this. This same issue occurred not too long ago with another member who frequented the board quite regularly as well. I don't think this is acceptable on a board that prides itself in being tighter knit or more community oriented.

I totally agree with you! There are shops posting on Lat G that are completely over their heads... have done crappy work - or overcharged for work done, and nobody says a word. Trust me... there have been many a back room dog fight over this issue. Here's the deal... unless the person DIRECTLY involved wants to post up their issues (whether it's the shop saying the customer is a bozo or the other way around) it's not anyone else's business to post up info they may have (second hand usually). The word tends to spread behind the scences... leaving most in the dark.

I'm not intimating there was anything askew here -- just posting a response to your "question" and statement about the community involvement is all because I feel very much the same as you do.

We - as a community - could go on for weeks debating issues. Was it miscommunication - was it over promise and under deliver - is it failure to pay - scope of work creep - creepy work - personality mismatch - customer wants more than was bargained for - change of plans.... and most all of the time there are two or perhaps three sides to every issue. Sometimes it might just come down to you're tired of waiting for your car to get worked on.

Can I assume you've tried contacting him? And this thread has been quite off the tracks for some time, so don't worry about that.

Actually you kinda are.

My response is a combination of the following:

1. If you don't have something nice to say, well then.... you all know the rest

2. I am just trying to leave the past in the past and move forward

3. Some information is not for public consumption and some of it I have been asked to keep private as such

Trey, if you or anyone has any specific questions, you could always PM me directly. Not everything is fit for the forum out in the open and that has nothing to do with cliques or secrecy... it has to do with time and place. A build thread is not a tell-all book. These are private business dealings here let's not forget that.

And yes the car is currently at Cortex Racing right now in Sonoma.

And as mentioned yesterday... and in an effort to get back on topic.... car updates coming soon.

I tell ya what... Roadster Shop has figured it out... finish the car... and then post the build thread details. :trophy-1302:

Happy Festivus everyone. :D

I knew you were fond of Mustangs cause of the stripes on your Camaro.
I never thought you'd take it to a Mustang shop, to get a full mustang conversion.

Yeah not sure about the Roadster shop comment. I saw the cars at SEMA, haven't looked at the build thread much, like I would watching it build up to SEMA. I totally understand if its a customer request though.

Dave drove the "rental car" I put together with Cortex parts, and realized if Cortex could make an '06 Mustang fast, they could make anything fast.

Dave, glad to hear you are anticipating progress soon, even if the car had to go to a new shop.

I can't wait to see/hear about the progress.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks Dave. I appreciate the response. I wasn't trying to dig into private matters. I was just curious as to what happened to Brett. Glad to know you're still moving forward with the project.

Yes, I talked to Brett in May/June about some work, but he said he had too much work in the shop to take it he project on. Brett is the man with fiberglass.... I will need some of his front wheel tubs.

Hey now... I am adapting to Mustangs... they are adapting to a Camaro. :stirthepot:

I am just saying on the build thread "sequence"... it's a lot less hairier revealing once all the drama is over. :)

This is not untrue. That dang rental car got my blood pumpin... of course since I haven't driven my Camaro in almost 3 years, an Ecoboost Mustang could probably get my blood pumpin. :snapout:
