Just absolutely amazing what a REAL FAB SHOP can accomplish for less money - in less time - and done right.... without a bunch of BS.

Almost a very cool Camaro...almost.

lol

WSSix 04-18-2015 05:20 PM

lol, I love what people do to get around sound checks at tracks. Reminds me of SLP doing the two out the left exhaust on the 4th gen cars for the same reason.

You're talking about the exhaust tips right?

Mods --- Can you please relabel a couple threads to give better clarity??

Change Dead Pool to:

Dead Pool Sr.

Change Badmotorfinger to:

Dead Pool Jr.

Change Thrift Shop Camaro to:

Dead Pool Sr and Jr knock up their First Cousin, keeping it "real" in the family

Doubt you'll get any help on that. What self-respecting mod looks at this thread?

Chad-1stGen 04-28-2015 04:07 PM

Dave,

Did you by chance mock up a seat before they fabed that exhaust? I'm surprised by how far forward it is. I don't remember you being 5' tall...

Yes it's a tight fit all around but the Butler seat does fit where the current cage is set and with pedals. And as you remember I am a bit more than 5 foot but The kid I bought the car from was shorter than Weld. (Not kidding). And the cage was built by a shop for him so it's not as far as back as I'd like, but it should do. Can't cut out everything in this car ... oh wait, nevermind.... :sieg:

I am thinking about a seat mount setup that can swap the Butler seat and a softer street seat fairly easily.

Oh you shush.

The only possible changes at this point would be in the name of safety. There really aren't that many decisions for me left to make. The parts are pretty much all there.

It's a really nice day down in SoCal too. So nice I can't decide which loud, clunky, kidney destroying car to hop into today.

Oh, the things you have to look forward to, DG!

Last few post are too funny! This build has definitely gone from mild to wild!

GregWeld 04-29-2015 08:21 PM

David -- Meet Dave... oh and Payton... and oh about 50 others on here... some build threads are... well... what should we say... Fossilized? Nah.... Prehistoric? Too strong?? Okay... measured in light years?

Most of the "chatter" is just to bump them (the threads) to the top once in awhile to remind the owners to walk out to the garage and look under the boxes...

Seeing this much progress on your car sometimes makes me wonder if I am in some alternate universe, 30 years in the future.

Yep.

And it also reminds some brave souls here to see if the place where they're hiding their credit card receipts is still 'secure'.

Looking the business Dave, don't worry about that Weld character, he's only pissed he can't afford it. :underchair:

You must be talking about that pit vehicle you bought to take you from the rig to the clubhouse and back.

That's a wicked exhaust system, Dave. Hope it sounds badass!

DBasher 04-30-2015 08:10 PM

Wasn't the exhaust done a few years ago? This feels like deja vu...I'll have to go back and reread.

Were I in the manly dual exhaust club, I'd be like dude, bro, crossover? X-pipe? Other special powers?

If you wait long enough, I might start an unbuild/build thread for my car that will probably not move out of my garage again for about a pre-K childhood or so...

Yeah it was done.... very economically I got a real Nascar boom tube ($90 off ebay) to fit with relative ease and loved it. But big exhaust systems don't work too well with torque arms, and we lowered the car a bit.

No need to re-read... you won't find anything in this quagmire.

An H or X pipe would be nice but at this power level it really doesn't matter. Traction will be at a premium anyway. Especially since this is a 200 TW wearing street car. :underchair:
