I asked Mark this once. Apparently you can register a car on it's CA plates no matter where you live.

Thanks, I had no idea. That seems really crazy.

Ca.wants the money. They don't care if you live out of state.

You just hit the nail on the head, Charley!

Car reg. fees were once for fixing roads but now are a general fund revenue generator. And our state is broke.

Car looks great, Mark. Looking forward to seeing it at SEMA.

Great work Mark, that thing is wicked cool!

Thanks for all the kind word and support.

This was the best first track outing I have ever had on a new build. It was very close right out of the box.

The engine works great. After a 20 minute session the coolant temp was 193 F. I know it was a cool day but that is great.

The brakes feel great, nice high hard pedal. The ABS trail brakes in very nice.

The clutch is easy to modulate and plenty of high RPM reserve.

The DSE chassis was good out of the box. I made some educated guesses on the spring rates and sway bar setting based of the new mass and front weight bias. Over all very close. I also looked at my old notes and put an initial shock cal on the car and it was close also.

So for a quick shake down on a small track I feel very good where the car is at. I still have some small issues but nothing that will keep me from testing this Friday at Gingerman.

I have a lot of data from Gingerman and that will be the true test of this car. I'm also working on finding a place to practice AutoX. I have some plans in the works and something will come together. Looks like Tire Rack has two AutoXs this weekend in South Bend so that will work.

It is always entertaining to roll this kind of car off the trailer at an open track event. Some people knew who I was so they were not surprised the car was fast. A lot of people walked around it and looked at it like it was the space shuttle.

I do need to sort out how to ask people to look with their eyes and not their fingers.

Mark

Mark

In the world of 1969 Camaros that car IS the space shuttle!
