At first I was like  and :flag2:   hoping for some shake down pictures or video.
Looks like a few more years of :G-Dub: :BlahBlah: :fluffy: :happy23: :bunny:

Dave, I think you should right a book. Titled "How to convince your wife that this IS the way you build a car". You must be a frickin genius!

Like sands through the hour glass.....

Sieg 10-03-2015 10:33 AM

Maybe DG & RD should go in on a stacking trailer so they can take their cars for a drive together?

sixnina 10-04-2015 03:47 PM

Come on DG spill the details!!

XLexusTech 10-04-2015 03:50 PM

Hey Dave any pictures of how you ran the brake lines in the subframe?

I think the only work that took place was "liver extension".... Bottle opening 101... and a lot of BS and bench racing. But that's all fun too I guess.

With the 'Good Ron' doing some of the heavy lifting, that could put a 'W' in the #win column.

Or, just wave a :waveflag:

lol

intocarss 10-04-2015 09:37 PM

I'm a DORK, I thought the car was done and being delivered to DG... WTF is going on with it now!?

dhutton 10-05-2015 04:52 AM

Another shop/builder change. Damn... :popcorn2:

I think they might be able to save the headlights.

Flash68 10-06-2015 12:52 AM

Car arrived safely in North Carolina.

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...psdesndboj.jpg

And to save valuable Lateral G bandwidth, just follow Payton's Camaro thread to see what mine should pretty much resemble.

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...psuduaprqk.jpg

I can't thank Payton enough for pushing just the right amount on me for awhile now to get my car to Jim Pettigrew to make things right and order Thrift Shop Camaro package #002.

Thanks for all the caring in this thread. fellas

57hemicuda 10-06-2015 02:57 AM

Sorry Dave, but after seeing the car on here for so long, and seeing the floor pans look like the picture, with sooo many signatures on the quilt work. Somebody had to put a stop to it. LOL

https://57hemicuda.smugmug.com/Cars/.../L/quilt-L.png

GregWeld 10-06-2015 06:11 AM

So.... I'm confused. Where exactly are the mufflers going to be located? Under the drivers feet or behind his helmet? :G-Dub:

DBasher 10-06-2015 07:10 AM

I'm confused also, are you having the suspension redone again or is Jim more of a cage, floor, sheet metal fab guy?

Car does look good all put together.

GregWeld 10-06-2015 07:31 AM

Can you only imagine how much money I saved by spending a lousy $40 grand on the Mustang purchase...... hahahahahahahahahaha

A complete suspension upgrade only took a month or two and included buying 2 complete sets of Formula 43 wheels and 8 new Hoosiers... big brakes - spares - two tool boxes with special tools and spacers... and I'm still half of what this unfinished project cost. :poke:

Flash68 10-06-2015 09:44 AM

You guys are confused? Not as confused as I am.

Greggers, your math is off. Probably more so on your own car  But I do hear 245's and leaf springs are expensive. :G-Dub: The biggest thing I've lost in the last couple years is progress.

But your math is perfectly sound when you talk about you and Gaetano running neck and neck. :peepwall: :D

I had to switch to light beer to hang with Payton and Ron.

Suspension should be mostly fine. Will take a closer look at that later. But if you've seen Payton's thread you can see that Jim is a very talented fabricator. I was impressed with the pictures Payton has shown us but the work in person is just incredible. Payton's car is so sweet I literally pointed to it and said "just give me that."

Correct.........once the decoupled rear end installation is finished.

Finally, a tangible game plan!!!

Payton, just how much are you charging him for the rendering?

:welcome3:

Not going there. I like the torque arm and my exhaust needs are different from Payton's so I think it'd be hard to pull off anyway.

When do you fire the crew chief? Hire Sutton with a date to finish the car and GET OUT OF THE WAY. :thankyou:

awr68 10-06-2015 09:44 PM

Ok, I've been absent for a little while. What page shows the current state and plan of attack?

WSSix 10-07-2015 10:10 AM

Dave, I really hope this is the final push to having the car built the way you've always wanted. I look forward to the progress pictures.

That's not the stupidest thing you've ever said (that's a separate long list) but that's not how this one plays out.

If you met or saw what Jim Pettigrew has done and can do, you'd understand.

Thank you, and just seeing Payton's car there solidified my confidence in this decision.

In hindsight, regarding the the last 2 shops I worked with, I don't think they were bad decisions at the time. One seemed riskier than the other and I kinda knew that going in, but I was willing to take that risk at the time. It happens. Even Weld doesn't always make the right decision. See Steve's Auto Repair job on his '32. (Sorry Greg - just for context!)

One way or another, this is the last stop. :waveflag:

Gaetano? He isn't even on the target list. :stirthepot:

Heard this..."It's not how you start, it's how you finish."

If it was easy, they wouldn't call it 'pro-touring'.

This car has been bad ass since Day 1. I can't wait to see the full vision come together.

It might not be touring. And it certainly doesn't appear to be pro. :D
