alignment
Well we found a local shop that said they could do the four wheel alignment. Unfortunately the rear would not align. Actually the right rear was close but the left rear was out a degree and a half. To correct this the alignment shop says we need to move the upper a-arm mounts outward by about 5/8 of an inch. Obviously when Wayne Due built the frame it was wrong. What concerns me is why is one side off and not the other? If everything is symmetrical why does only the left side have to be moved?:_paranoid
I'm seriously thinking of puling the whole independent rear out and going with a straight axle. Not sure what I should do. Next week we are going to pull the gas tank and all the suspension and try to determine what is wrong. Hopefully the frame is square and centered in the car if not than we have a big problem:( Any one have any suggestions. It's C5 upper and lower control arms with a cobra R rear end. We had to have totally custom half shafts made as well. So I already have a lot invested. Doug |

I would like to bring this thread back from the dead. The car has taken a long time due to my construction business being slow for me and a long drawn out divorce, therefore there was a shortage of money. It is drivable, but still needs a lot of work. I'm going to post a few pics of it's current condition and some renderings of a possible dash and console.
I still have many questions on how I'm going to proceed, because the advances in these cars go so fast due to the fact I've taken so long to build the car. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. DougAttachment 44317 Attachment 44319 Attachment 44318 Attachment 44320 |
Not sure on how to advance the styling of this car, but the dash looks good to me. Subtle and classy. That dash and console design, in my opinion, looks like it can withstand the test of time. It's no too flashy where it would look dated in a year or two. I like it. Also, glad to see you still have the car thru a divorce. I have some friends who got divorced and the spouse neither wanted the car nor knew what to do with it. They just didn't want them to have it and knew it would hurt them to take it.
