I had my whole exhaust system (headers back) Jet coated, still got hot so now I've wrapped my exhaust w/header wrap and custom stitched a heat blanket fot just the top of my mufflers. Haven't installed them yet but should in the next couple of days, I'll let you know how it goes. Good luck. Thanks for the advice Ron.

I'm sure you could get there with math, as well.

0.461" for 304SS

The other part to consider is that all sections get longer, that means some sections of the tube structure will get wider as well. Flexible hangers come in hand for such things.

Very nice tube fabrication!

You are absolutely correct but I have a trick up my sleeve for that:D
That was something else that I thought about but if I run bracket on exhaust and another on body w 3/8" bolt to hold grommet together. It will not give it room to grow. I'm trying to guide the expansion by way of hangers so it will not compromise the close tolorances to body at certain places.. I have the whole system tucked in there pretty tight. For now it's just theory I'll see how it behaves once I put some heat to it..
Good eye

Cut a groove in the rod and snap a c-clip on it to hold the grommet in place.

By the way, I'm still contemplating on stealing your exhaust idea:)

Those sure are pretty, Nice job.

That will hold the grommet together but would not let exhaust slide back and forth freely. I'm thinking something along the lines of safety wire..
No need to steal. I'm willing to donate!:D
