Hell yes, the car hauler is awesome and you guys will have a blast.

Some time ago I flew to California with a buddy to buy an 86 T-type but with everything going wrong and a lot of delays we ended up driving back a 78 Trans Am.

Made it back from Carson City in 24 hours. Went through several tanks of fuel at redline and also lots of ephedrine.


Only thing I can suggest for this trip would be pick up a tow bar or trailer so you can bring 2 cars back with you :confused18:

You are going to need secure space to haul and hide all the mandatory track-day stuff and a spare set of tires. Sleeper/storage over the cab.

Tool boxes
Jacks and stands
Tire warmers?
A 70 qt. marine cooler for food & liquids.
Canopy & chairs.
BBQ and folding table.
Small Honda eu2000i or 3000i generator.
Tent/Air matresses/Sleeping bags?

Having a 32 or so gallon OEM auxiliary tank mounted under the truck with a pump for racey gas would be convenient too......if possible.

I don't know how much room you'll have with the car on there but a wheeled construction site job-box that could be winched up behind the cab has potential.

Staying inside the track vs. a motel would greatly reduce theft opportunities.

I wouldn't have suggested an LS.........definitely DuraMax/Allison FTW!

That was my concern Sieg. All the track day essentials. The great thing is there will always be someone around to help out. I'll have everything on board my trailer that he will need when we hit the Nor Cal Club events. I think Dave's main obstacle will be a place to carry fuel or E85 in Dave's case. I'm trying to remember if I have ever seen an E85 pump at T-Hill or Sonoma.

Great rendering! There's a guy on Craiglist selling 5x10 sheets of aluminum diamond plate cheap. It would look great for those newadditions, and your deiving right by here.

You know the game though............you don't want to be dependent on others for the necessities.......if that dependent has issues and doesn't show you're SOL.

If there's gaps in that undercarriage to mount one or two OEM style tanks for E-85 that would be slick vs a boat (Torino) load of fuel jugs. It would also minimize theft not that it's a problem in Cali.

A trailer would cover it well too but then you're towing and dealing with a trailer. If gross weight becomes an issue the trailer may be the solution though. :sieg:
