The car is really beautiful. Love the way the carbon looks with the black paint. Oh, and the clear coat really looks good on the hood too...I mean the way it's cleared makes it look really good. Your paint guy did a fine job with the hood.

waynieZ 02-15-2013 06:29 PM

It came out great John.

Ron in SoCal 02-15-2013 06:34 PM

Looks killer John!

I agree it could use a little drop. Do you have room under your rear wheel wells?

randy 02-15-2013 06:35 PM

what show was this?

This is one of the reason i went with a 18x11 in the rear instead of a 18x12. This allowed me to lower the car down more. Im only limited by my coilover length instead of tire and fender clearance

John510 02-15-2013 06:45 PM

Sacramento Autorama.

I think I can go another inch before it rubs.

Ill get some engine shots tomorrow when I head up there.

fleet 02-15-2013 07:20 PM

That is one badd '68 John.

Well done.

Richio1 02-15-2013 07:49 PM

Bad Ass John. Can't wait to see it in person tomorrow!

geberhard 04-18-2013 12:58 PM

John very clean doors dig the design what panels are those? What handles are you planning to get in? BTW interior of teh car is overrated, lol what is the ETA?????

Gui

John510 04-18-2013 01:22 PM

Its a deluxe door panel that was modified with fiberglass then recovered. Ill use a stock door handle.

geberhard 04-18-2013 01:29 PM

John looks awesome! I like the idea, same shop that is putting the car together is doing the interior? Who are you using?

Gui

John510 04-18-2013 01:30 PM

They are doing everything on it. West Coast Auto Craft in Cloverdale

geberhard 04-18-2013 01:32 PM

John sweet I bet you cna not wait any longer. Any planned ETA on getting it done?

John510 04-18-2013 01:34 PM

It was supposed to be done already. So not sure when it will actually be ready. Hopefully soon.

geberhard 04-18-2013 01:37 PM

Man I hear ya, but get an ETA from them. What else is needed to make her a driver at this point?

Patience is king but the itch is a bitch lol :) Gui

John510 04-18-2013 02:32 PM

qnitro 04-19-2013 11:24 AM

John the interior is looking great.. Its so close now that at least you can see the end... Looking forward to hearing it run though the area..

Richio1 04-24-2013 03:46 PM

John - went up to WCAC today to check out the cars. They are still plugging away.

Pam and the new girl were working on your carpet and back seats. I gotta tell ya, that headliner is AWESOME! Looks sooo good in person. I love how Pam did it with the stock headliner bows. I think it looks way better then the Marquez style suede headliners. Provides a little more definition.

She also got the package tray and side metal pieces all wrapped in leather. They look great too. You need to have her send you some pics.

geberhard 04-24-2013 04:09 PM

Jeff lol I was so going to quote and re-edited what you wrote for fun :)

John fingers crossed want to see this puppy coming along so bad!!

Well now that you mention it... that is pretty good. Next time I'll get some pictures for you of them "working on the carpet, wrapping in leather, together". You'd be surprised, they are both cute too... no where near your typical car shop chicks.

Think All Girls Garage...and let your mind wander. Now :topic:

geberhard 04-24-2013 04:44 PM

Jeff lol you gotta remind me of SEMA candy hahahah!

John, what are you doing on the door panels?

Gui

John510 04-25-2013 09:55 PM

Thanks for the updates Jeff.

I need to decide on some seat belts soon.

John510 04-26-2013 03:23 PM

Not sure which brand. I found these on Ebay for 500 a piece and had them recovered. The back is real carbon also which is why I wanted them..

Richio1 04-26-2013 04:59 PM

Nice... l love the red stitching. Subtle but it ties everything together nicely.

Amituk 04-27-2013 01:06 AM

They are copies of the cobra misanos.

One of my favourite seats.

Nice

John510 05-07-2013 11:24 AM

OK guys heres some updated interior shots. Pam at WCAC is doing a pimpin job on my interior. Im very impressed with the detail where she mated the leather to the carbon.

broken1234 05-08-2013 08:55 PM

Can you stitch to carbon fiber? Or is that just really well fitted and glued? That looks nice!
