Very cool Rodger. Car looks like a blast to drive.

Good stuff Rodger, must be fun being able to use the fruits of your labour. I know running a business isn't fun and games all the time. So getting time to take the car out must have been a blast.

So you think the video game helped out with your driving skills? :unibrow:

It was a good weekend. The results exceeded my expectations. So are you saying running a business is tough, I thought that was called living the dream.

I think the Iracing has improved my skills, Do I think I could race online and then go win the daytona 500, Not a chance. But does it help? Sure. I bet you have to do 500 laps in a simulator to gain what you could learn in 1 lap on the track. But who of us can go to the track every day? I have learned about braking and cornering and finding the line from Iracing. But I had race experience before I started online. So that helps speed up what I learn online.

Speed Ventures has one coming up. I'm curious to see some lap times out of you guy's. So far I'm running 2:10's with the 13CW configuration, 2:10.125 being my fastest lap.

Wow - jealous - hahah car is looking awesome!

Bow Tie 67 10-06-2010 08:50 PM

Looks great on the track.

Can I ask what the front rim backspacing is? Also what caster, camber, toe settings were used?

Congrats on getting her out on the track.

Gosh I have slept since We did this. But I think the front BS was 6" on a 10" wheel. The caster is at 2-3 degrees, the camber we set close to 1 degree and the tow was in a 1/16 per side. I send all our cars out to a little alignment shop in a small town called Lamont. They don't have a fancy alignment machine, Just an old guy who has been aligning cars for years with a bubble gauge and some other caveman type tools. But every car is perfect.

Thanks

It's mine and it will never be for sale. There are a handful of poorly executed copies out there. My 50/50 car will be the one and only with that carbon fiber air dam on it.

Well we finally had time to address the issues we wanted to fix after Reno last year. I got the car back on the road this week. I'm working on trying to get it wrapped with a flat white vinyl wrap I bought online. I'm still waiting on the carbon fiber inner fenders from Anvil. I have a couple of things I still want to address before RTTC. But I only get to work on it in my spare time.

I'm thinking of changing things up similar to this updated rendering

And This car I fell in love with at SEMA last year.

Killer looks on the update Rodger!

I like it! A lot!

I'm bringing my helmet to RTTC. :unibrow:

ironworks 02-05-2011 05:37 PM

You might want to bring a phone book also. We mounted the seats pretty low.

Thanks, I'm trying really hard not to make it nice. Just pure business. I have been driving around this week and that may not be good for my driving record.

Really like where you are taking this one, Rodger. Flat white wrap is a great call. I'm surprised the flat colored wraps haven't caught on a little more actually. I really want to do one sometime.

Loved that white Vette at SEMA too.

96z28ss 02-06-2011 12:26 AM

Can't wait to go for a ride in that thing.

mdprovee 02-06-2011 08:13 AM

I like the rendering, I am looking forward to seeing it at RTTC.

Love the front spoiler!

KPC67 02-06-2011 08:44 AM

Rodger,
A couple nights ago I went through this whole thread again, so I am excited to see some updates on this one.

Cris@JCG 02-06-2011 10:02 AM

I like the rendering with the new color Rodger! looking forward to seeing @ RTTC.. How about the stance?? are you going to try to get like the rendering or is it pretty much gonna sit the way we are currently looking @ it..

ironworks 02-06-2011 01:01 PM

Well thanks guys. It has been a pretty easy project but it still takes time. I'm excited to get to use and abuse the car this year.

On this project I could careless about stance and such. The suspension geometry at this height is spot on, plus the big 295 front tires barely clear as it is. I'm going to actually move the rear lower tip of the front fender opening back just a bit so it won't rub at full lock. Other then that Everything is good. But your right it does not have the stance but sometimes reality wins out over what some guys draws on paper. I have been really really happy with how well this car handles and how predictable it is.

Now I just need to figure out why trans fluid if coming out of the top of the shifter. Not in between the shifter and housing but in the top of the shifter. In between the spring and the lever of the actual shifter. But only at High RPM. After that I want to change the oil and take care of just a few cosmetic issues and then who friggin cares. This car is 3015 lbs with my big ass in it and probably 550hp. I just want to spend more time with the car before I really decide what changes it needs. The car rides pretty stiff as it is but seems to work well but even though its stiff the rates are really low. I actually had to switch to hyperco springs because the car is so light Chassisworks did not have a spring to fit.

Thanks again guys

Vegas69 02-06-2011 01:08 PM

I like the new rendering:thumbsup: I was never feeling those gold wheels. Go before show!

Thank you for your blessings Todd. Well I'm not changng the wheel colors at this point. I'm just changing the Orange to flat white cuz the wrap was cheap and easy. Actually the gold (although more titianium in person) centered wheels have gone over well. But I do think they may not work as well with the white wrap now. But I hear gold wheels are faster.

tones2SS 02-07-2011 04:30 PM

Very nice. Rodger. Rendering looks killer. Love the color scheme.
Kudos to Carter for the awesome rendering.

nvr2fst 02-07-2011 05:03 PM

Did you change out the wheels, the rendering looks like forgelines but I thought you already have a set of Budniks made for this car.
 on the rendering, better than the first

ironworks 02-07-2011 06:04 PM

The original rendering was with some custom monoblock wheels Eric designed. But the specs need for the car would make them super heavy. So We did up some Budniks that turned out pretty cool.

crazycarl 03-09-2011 02:58 PM

White cars and gold wheels get my motor runnin!

I think race car's that are street legal are the best P-T car's.And this one fit's the bill's. Great job Rodger.

DriverzInc 03-27-2011 07:46 PM

Just went through this thread again, sweet car. With the matte white wrap, your car and my nova will be matchy matchy

scottysimp7 03-27-2011 08:03 PM

Well if things go right this week, I will have the car in Del Mar. Not sure I will have much time to drive it, since I need to tend to my booth. But maybe I will take a few laps on Friday. I offered the car to Renner, since he is one of the few that might actually fit in the car. He was not sure he was ready for an LS7 yet.

Lol, nice!

ironworks 02-05-2012 09:39 PM

Due to lack of time and just have other ideas I put this car up for sale in the for sale section on here. I under stand this car is worth more for parts then as a complete. It is a street legal racecar without even one creature comfort. It hauls ass and needs someone with more time then me to tune some other manufactures suspension products.

I'm trying to work on my own chassis stuff.
