Sounds clean, I'm guessing they changed the timing curve to increase the torque with no real horsepower change? Those are big block numbers, with way less cubes. Wait a minute, those are big block cubes. LOL

Yea, he fussed with the timing a bit.. tried to stay conservative since he knows we will be beating it with 91 octane.. I have an intermitant cam sensor.. only on start up. Sometimes if fires right up, sometimes it just cranks. Going to replace the small harness, sensor and check the plug tomorrow. It sounds quite angry when you get on it... I need to break in the clutch.. tempting to just flog it. |
Engine sounds awesome man. That engine pic you took is also killer. Nice work Steve.

She's a sick bitch. I can't wait to run em. It would be cool if you cruised her over and we made a weekend of it. Race, some shooting(Guns), and a photo shoot. :unibrow:

Steve do you have any picture of the car when it was a drag car. I think seeing the transformation from Drag Car to Auto-Cross / Track Car would be cool to see in your magazine.
Make me wonder if buying an old pro-street car is something we all should consider. |

broke my fifth metacarpal bone just below the pinky knuckle tripped in my shop and landed closed fist on the concrete floor.. bonehead move on my part (and my first broken bone!) The cure is worse than the sickness.. the fing cast means I type with one hand and one finger... and i have to use the mouse left handed. Gonna be a long month (considering i have 3 stories to type up) Shiat happens.. still gonna compete in the Editors racethis weekend.. just sorta one handed (although my rgt hand is still somewhat useful) |
You should get a special shift knob made so it will work with you cast. Or...one the works with one finger.

Well I was just cruising home from cruise night on the freeway and what comes rolling up next to me? Bad Penny and Mr. Rupp. She looked good and sounded great when Steve took her back a gear and gave it a little gas.
Looking forward to seeing her on the track tomorrow at GoodGuys. That ride looked a little stiff for our Cali freeways Steve. Did you have your kidney belt for that long drive home tonight? lol |
Quote:
She actually rode great.. evem on that damn plate freeways.. Teh Recaros also help tame the ride.. its actually a pleasure on most roads. A nice 100 mile breadk in drive before tomorow... i shifted a LOT. See ya tomorrow |
Ya,Ya,Ya, how's the new power plant?

Small issues to work out. Big thanks to the crew from Best of Show.. They were a TON of help.. especially recently with my injury |

As always, looks and sounds awesome, Steve. I'd certainly hope your 460 makes more than 550whp - LS7's make more than that with smaller cams! Interested in the Mast top-end you're going to run, for sure... |

And my cam is tame.. nice street manners Penny did good today.. Ran a 29.6xx which was in the top three i think.. we have an issue with the rear shocks bottoming out.. not good So considering that and the broken hand we did good, had to drive in second gear to keep it under control Will be working with global west to do som tuning an their new Penske line of shocks |

Are you working with Doug over at GW? |

He feels the car is leaving a lot on the table.. :willy: |
Now you know why I run the OLC in 2nd - it's the only way...
Keep me posted on shocks. I think that I am going to be replacing the rears for the same reason. One some of the more aggressive road courses that we ran I thought that the car was setting a bit too soon - the transition felt great but I think that more travel is needed. Glad the "debut" (is this the third or the forth debut? lol) went well. Sorry about Nick - I'm sure he won't rub it in to much. Wish I could have been there. Cheers |
