Not yet. Getting closer every day.

Here are a few photos of some of the progress made this past week.

The fuel cell and line to the motor are done.

The wiper motor was relocated to the far end of the firewall. Custom linkage was made to hook up to the original wipers. The brake and clutch reservoirs were also installed on the firewall.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...b/IMG_3706.jpg

The holes for the gauges were cut. Next are the switches in the next couple days. After that, the dash will get textured and painted.

Brian cool build!
I had a ? about the front drive system on the motor, is it factory with a custom atl. mount or is it a kit that some body sells
I like the amount of belt thats goes around the P.S.

Thanks for sharing!

DAMN! One hell of a car.

73CPCAMARO 02-13-2011 07:11 PM

The dash was textured, painted, and installed this weekend. I am very happy with the results. I tried to duplicate the factory look with the fiberglass dash and gauges.

Cris@JCG 02-14-2011 11:43 AM

I think I will use one of these dashes on my car Brian! I really like the way it looks & keeps the weight down.. What gages are those?

On the dash, I used a 3M light gravel guard and sanded it down. After that, SEM trim black. The trunk floor and interior floor has bed liner. I wanted a durable floor that cleans easily. I don't have cup holders, so I may spill.

The gauges are Speed Hut.

You do realize this is a fiberglass replica, not an OEM dash and pad...? :_paranoid

How is the gravel guard applied? Is it an aerosol?

I can't seem to find it.

Here is the product I used. Sorry for not giving the proper name earlier.

http://www.shop3m.com/60980009868.html

I applied about 3 - 4 coats and then primed and lightly sanded the high spots down. Trim black to finish it off.

Not done yet. The small details are killing me. We have also spent a little time gettting the Corvette ready for the RTTC II.

Amazing car, Brian. Can't wait to see it on the track for the first time.

A couple of quick questions...

1) About the dash... in an earlier post you mentioned its a VFN dash. I looked on their site and the picture they have posted looks different than your dash (the gauge area is more recessed). Did you modify that section of the dash, or is the picture on the VFN site just not accurate? I like the layout you have better. Here's the picture from their site (http://vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm):

Attachment 28999

2) What size tach and speedo are you using? 3 3/8" or 4"

3) Finally, how many cans of the 3M Rocker Guard paint did you use? At $24/can, it's kind of expensive stuff but it sure looks killer!

Thanks!

It is a VFN dash that Maier Racing customized for me. The instrument cluster was moved back to clear the roll cage. Maier Racing does a lot of custom fiberglass work, so it was easy for them.

I am using 4" large gauges and 2 1/8" small gauges.

One can is plenty. I used about 1/2 a can.

We have been on hold for the last week or so as we took the Corvette down to RTTC II. I am also going to Las Vegas for NASCAR in a couple days with my buddy that is doing the plumbing. We may do a little this week, but much more next week.

Update!

We are getting really close. Just about everything is done. The few items left are to finish the electrical to fire up the engine, take the car to Maier Racing to have the front anti sway bar made and installed, then install the fornt clip and complete the electrical. We hope to have it done in about one month. Here are some recent photos:

JRI Shocks installed on all 4 corners
