Yeah Ron.... I know right. I'm still saving for the RHS block. Lol!! And that takes :G-Dub: :G-Dub: . But, it's coming in due time. Every time I put back $1500, something comes up and I wind up needing to use some of it. Just had a blow out Saturday, now I have to go buy 2 new tires. There $400 right there.....geesh! :bang:

Marcus,
Had to check out the Chevelle, it is top notch work! Love the touches like dash, door handles that people will be scratching their head about.

I had a 72 just out off High School, when they were new, lol. It was a 402, 4 speed, another one I should have kept.

Waiting to save the money is the most frustrating part of the build if you ask me:bang: Chevelle is going to be badass.

HEEP

Thanks guys for checking on me. I'm still alive and kicking. I do have another thread Heep, but I haven't updated either in a while. I'm just stacking money right now for the motor. Too much going on right now with year end property taxes and Christmas. I should have the motor by mid spring. Trust me, I'll update here before anywhere else. Besides, those guys over on Chevelles.com seem to not be heavy into the protouring/custom stuff. Just my opinion.

You are exactly right. I have an LS7 block and many times I said I'm just gonna build it. Then again, I think to myself, naw I'll just keep saving for the RHS block.

HEEP 11-20-2013 08:23 AM

Marcus,
No worries, i'm still stuck on my trans mount and have no time or money at this point. Bad thing is, a couple of hundred and time will set it on the tires.

Life and kids seem to always be in the way for us. But it will get there. Wait, the holidays are coming.:bur2: :bang:

Well, good to know you are still alive and kicking.

Bill

I still like this plan. Get you on the road this year with some extra gas $$ to burn and still run hard.:D

It is GM's LSX 376 shortblock they sell, topped off with a Magnuson TVS 2300 Supercharger. Not sure of the accessory drive kit on it. It is a beautiful motor isn't it?

That is tempting Rob. And, I'll have over $10k left over to play with, huh? Hmmmmm!! Very tempting, my friend...very tempting.

Good call. Nothing wrong with the LS7 block, but those RHS blocks are great and get good reviews. Either way though, it's a win-win.

Save faster Marcus, I can't wait to see what this engine puts down!

Decisions, Decisions eh? I keep kicking around (and hoping for a good deal on one)a supercharger for the ls3 in mine, but it may have to wait. :bang: :bang:

Been over 3 years now Marcus. License and registration, please!

214Chevy 01-11-2017 11:34 AM

Scott, why you call me out like that. LOL!! I've been busy. Had to put the car on the back burner for a while. I mean, family first, right. Although, if it wasn't for the kids...I'd have been finish with this car. Well, here's a small sneak peek of what's been going on. I figured I'd do like the big time shops and keep the car under wraps. Hahahah!!

Decided to go with the new Dart SHP LS Next block with piston oil squirters. Engine will be a LS7, 427 with a 4.0 Whipple. Pistons are custom 4.125 bore Diamond pistons. I have All-Pro 12-1 heads on order as well. Will post pics as soon as they come in. I still need to get rods and crank though. Also, have the Wegner accessories drive ordered too. Supercharger pulleys will be 10-rib and the accessories will be 6-rib...I think. Can't recall if Casey at Wegner told me 6 or 8-rib. LOL!! Here are a few pics for now.

Nice stuff Marcus! I have a ""little" engine build going of my own :secret:
Now you know that we're gonna need some pics of the actual Chevelle also, right? Is your chassis in Powdercoat? Car in paint? These teasers just won't do my friend...

Awe man, you're not gonna let me make it are you? LOL!! I've been putting off powder coating the frame and all until I made my mind up with the motor and gas tank. As far as the car, I may have to recess the firewall because of the rear inlet of the supercharger. All this has been up in the air for months. I've now finally made up my mind. Although, I do have a few more bills to pay off before I get back on it full time. I couldn't powder coat the frame because I had to weld the brackets of the Rick Vaporworx tank to the rear frame rails. But, couldn't do that because there was an issue with the tank after it was built. The tank itself was flawless, but where they put the fuel return line bung, it prevented me from fitting the tank in its place in the back....the square part. The bung keep hitting the frame rail. So, I had to send it back to Hector at Ricks and have them remove it and place it somewhere else. Here are a few pics.

Have you been driving and enjoying yours?

good stuff, moving slow isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it equals quality. Loved the :flashie:

True Bill. At times I think my build may be going in reverse it's so slow. Make no bones about it though, I have a plan and I'm sticking to it and I won't settle for less and not be happy with the car. Been there, done that and that's why I had to rebuild it this second time because of settling and taking short cuts to hurry up and get the car finished and not being happy with the car. Vowed to never do that again. Plus, it was my first time restoring a car and I didn't know much...knew a little, but not enough and made some mistakes. I've learned a lot along the way and patience is one of those things.

"...quality has no fear of time."

Not sure who said it, but it's a favorite quote.
