Should be interesting to see the progress. I think you will be happy with the results. Ideas are what makes this hobby so much fun.

Nice choice in wheels! Is that the exact finish or will you do something differant? I may be wrong, but didn't you want blind hardware? I've been out of the loop for awhile....I like the pic you posted, they will look great!

Very nice wheel!
  |
Mario,
Was there really any doubt you'd become the newest member of 'The ole Lat-g ball & chain club'? |

Nice choice on the wheels Mario. With all that rubber it should stick like a slot car.
|
Great looking wheel Mario.

Here are a few pics of how the car looked when it came in....as you can see there are some fitment issues but not to worry Mario before you know it the gaps will be beautiful.

One night a husband walked into the bedroom holding two aspirin and a glass of water. His wife asks, "What's that for?" "It's for your headache." "I don't have a headache." He replies, "Gotcha!" |

Ok so heres some good pics....
It took a little bit of work but here we are....the doors fit the quarters now and the fenders fit the doors.....next step fit the rockers to the doors. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0141.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0143.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0142.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0145.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0146.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0148.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0144.jpg -troy |

The fenders fit the door horribly to start and there was no further adjustment to move the fender in so the first thing I did on both sides of the car was remove the fender bracket that bolts in the jamb http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0149.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0150.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0155.jpg Next thing I did was remove e coat to have a more visible look at the gap, then re installed the fender and this was what I got with just adjustments. So you can see the bracket was holding us up alot!! Gaps not great but something we could work with. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0156.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0153.jpg As you can se the bottom was not fitting the contour of the car at all so a little cutting and bending was needed and after some edge grinding and re welding its got a good gap. And the final task re install that bracket that held us up in the begining. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0154.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0159.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0158.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...l/DSC_0160.jpg On the other side I had to do a little more work to the top of the fenders but you get the basics.... -troy |
Nice work! its great when you guys share some of your knowledge with us lessor educated..:D
|
My drivers fender is the opposite it has 4 alignment shims in there. Nice job, this step is so important for a good build. Very nice Mario.
|
Troy something tells me those fenders are going to get cut up a little more than that!!!!:_paranoid
