Keep the pictures coming Greg.. She's lookin good!!!!!!!

Stopped by SAR today on my way (I'll eventually make it there!) home....
The headers Tim Bruning (of LAT G fame) is building are going to be killer! They'll get full polishing - and there's still a lot of work to do but you'll get the idea! http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0521.jpg The gauges arrived! They were picked to use the color of the leather - and for the red pointer... and the numbers are big enough for an old fart like me to see! http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0518.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0517.jpg Tim has a good idea for the turnouts.... and is trying to run the "down pipes" INSIDE the frame rather than the easy way of just running them down and around the outside of the frame. The man has some serious talent! http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0522.jpg |
Man Greg she's lookin good
|
Looking good Greg! The gauges are sweet.
|
That sucker is coming together... I really like the gauges for that.
|
Good stuff Greg, the puzzle is coming together nicely. You're obviously on a roll don't let off the throttle!

No offense to anyone building anything... but it's generally a wallet issue when the builds take years.... My instructions to the shop. Get on it - stay on it - get 'er done! If I wanted it to be half assed, and take forever.... I'd have built it myself! :unibrow: |
LOL
It's looking good nice job on the header so far  cant wait to see it at GG's |

I'll have most of a '32 Ford left over in "old" parts now.... Can't really think of much that I re-used! :willy: The old gauges were black faced... and in a different style dash. By the time I'd have re-done that dash - I could just do a new one. Which is what we did. I'll have the old one to hang up as "garage art". Ugh! The new gauges look as though someone actually stood back and "thought about it" for just a minute.... |
Lookin good Greg. Everything is coming together nicely.
|
I'm kinda liking the steel wheels on it.
|
I love me a good 32 !
Nice little Hot Rod you're building there Greg ! Its got the "right" stuff without being "overdone". |
Lookin' sweet Greg. I'm liking the mods you've had done. I will say, I like those steele rims on there.

The "right" wheels have been ordered from Schott.... They're Velocitys done "my way". |

I'm trying to "reel it in" a bit -- and get a little tradition in there - without ruining the whole car. With it being slicked - it's harder to try to bring back the car AND try to keep the clean feel it has. I think you'll like (I hope, I should say) some of the touches we just settled on. We're putting a little "art deco" touches on it. And for some on here -- I'm finally re-doing the windshield. |
thanks..LOL. Deco is good

Stay tuned! She's going to dress up just fine! |
The console was looking a bit contemporary ------ so we picked up the lines off the headlights and the antique heater.... and they're in the process of remaking it.
This is how it was when I left... with more work and a couple of "trick" ideas yet to come. http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0526.jpg |
With the car on the ground.... where it hasn't been for awhile. We needed to get 'er down so we could settle on the headlight spreader bar. It will get some "shape" to pick up the shape of the grill -- rather than just be a straight bar. We'll also black out the radiator and the cross bars in the grill... etc so that you'll focus on the grill shell shape and not all the crap going on behind it.
Also doing these nice little headlights with LED turn signals/running lights. You don't get that yellow bulb 'effect' in these that you do in some of the cruder versions. http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0529.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0530.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0531.jpg With the signal OFF.... not a hint of yellow! http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0532.jpg |
Twin cup holders! :wow:
There is no end to your wallet! :D Good choice of wheels, looking forward to seeing them "my way." |
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
If I had your money.... I'd burn mine! |
Car is coming along great Greg.
Those SAR guys are doing a great job. |
ok I know you are prob putting some killer wheels on it- but I love the progress shot with the steelies and narrow tires-
|
Greg
I know this not the regular 'lateral-g' menu, but I love the build! Can't wait to see this finished. Mike (I miss my old street rod.) |

Yes -- I really hesitated posting it up here - since it really doesn't "fit" -- but I also know most car guys are car guys... so figured what the heck! Actually -- I'm much more hot rodder than PT guy - but I love the PT stuff and try to incorporate it into what I'm doing when I can. All of these cars in the end - is about the lifestyle - the people - the fabrication etc. I personally think EVERYONE should have a hot rod at some point... the are just plain good old basic fun! Was your's a "vicky"? |
Greg, so cool! Is the front splash apron shaped like the top of the grill opening? Hard to tell from the pics. Either way it is cool to see a splash apron on a highboy. Are you going to blacken the inside part of the lower grill shell so the whole thing is black inside? Like the "WELD EDITION" headlight spreader bar as well. Really cool stuff going on.

wow, just saw this thread and must say....CLEAN! nice build, and even better your a fellow washingtonian!

Hope the software is going well for you! Yeah -- the apron -- or as some around here call it "the cow catcher" does mimic the shape of the grill. It really helped the front end "in my eye". And as I keep reminding the shop -- we have to have some "Frisbee" touches or it's just another plastic '32 Ford. LOL I asked them to make the spreader mimic these shapes as well... not just straight across. ALL of the radiator - the lower close out panel (or whatever it's called in a '32) and the cross bars in the grill will be blacked out. So anything that's behind the vertical grill bars will be black. |

Sieg! You are da man! Love the '34 ! The tools are not bad either... :unibrow: Is that your garage? |
