|
Wow, bringin the hardware. Congrats and well deserved. :bigun2:
|
Right on Jeff, nice work, really enjoyed seeing your car in the flesh..
|
Thanks guys.
Autorama is a different kind of show. Such a wide spectrum of cars & bikes. Some really amazing customs. The quality and level of these cars is just awesome just like the GNRS but on a smaller scale. It was so fun just hanging out and watching people check out the car and listen to the comments. One of the best was a guy who was a little liquored up who stopped by and said, "kids, this is daddy's favorite Charger in the whole show". Just gotta laugh. On a serious note, Chris mentioned that Rick Dore (builder of The Black Pearl) came by Saturday night as he was walking the show checking out some of the cars. Chris said he complemented him on the 37 Chevy and the Edsel but was really intrigued with the Camaro. Chris spent a while discussing the mods to the car. Rick said, "95% of the people here will walk by and not even notice or realize what's been done here since it was done so well. It just looks right". How awesome of a compliment is that? Holy.... He even came back two more times with a few guys to check it out again and point things out that he and Chris talked about. Last year it was Art Himsl complimenting the paint and body. That's what I love about shows like this where you get to have top builders who are cool enough to compliment another builder for what they have done; because Mr. Dore is right, 95% of the people likely won't realize what goes into it. Just like the average Joe who doesn't know protouring just cant appreciate what so many of these killer cars have put into them for upgrades that allow them to perform so well. Now on to the next adventure... I think we need to head out to ThunderHill for the SCCA Spring event in May and break this baby in the right way. |
Congratulation's Jeff. Well deserved.
|
Jeff all well deserved! The car is just bad azz!!! You have me rethinking my wheels!
|
Quote:
Those wheels of yours will look awesome on Doom... But I get it, that's the problem with buying wheels before the car is done. I bought mine with polished hoops and brushed centers and now look at them, brushed hoops and black centers. The next set will be centerlocks... Which is after the tranny upgrade and Stack Injection :unibrow: |
Great work! Looks amazing and coming along well.

Went by West Coast Auto Craft and spied a few pics of the Steam Punk roadster. I know Chris posted some pics a while ago but the posting was lost during the server switch.
I will tell you that pics don't do it justice at all. This think is sick. http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...psfe019017.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...psb6c52190.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps46c68b16.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...psb81060df.jpg The brass on the black with brushed aluminum is perfect. It's very hard to see in the pics but every rivet and tiny screw is brass too. And that gauge cluster is a work of art. |
Thanks for posting those pics, Jeff. That steampunk roadster is awesome.
|
Wow! Very cool creation there. I haven't seen this before. Unbelievable!
|
Jeff! Wow killer ride! Looks tiny an compact! I dig the crazy gauges!
Reminds of the Prague Astronomical clock! http://www.motorcycle.com/images/con...ss_prt2_02.jpg Gui |
I love the originality of it and it is just plain classy and one off!! Love it!
|
Mufflers?
What are the specs on the mufflers? Are they sportsman? What size and type? Love the sound and would like to run something similar on my car.

I believe that is where Chris's wife, Pamela, got the idea for the design. Here is a close up. It turned out awesome as did the rest of the car. http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...psza4bunjf.jpg |

That roadster is incredible. My wife would be jealous with how much I love that car.

Wow! Awesome build, I love the gauges.

We started the day off filling up both cars and 2 one gal. cans just in case since the area was about 18 miles away. We ended up burning through 23 gallons of gas in my car. They had to make a run mid day in the Battle Wagon back down to Napa trying to buy two 5 gallon cans to fill up. They only found one 5 gal and a 2 gal can. Mike is a "Spirited" driver. :D  They had to make a 2nd run about 7:15 to get more because Chris ran out of gas in the roadster. http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...pststmqupi.jpg He didn't just get to play all day either. http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...psth36tjwp.jpg |

Here are a few more of the cars. Chris from WCAC brought the Steampunk roadster along to put some tuning miles on it so the EFI could get more learning time.
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. March in Ca. :relax: Again, a big thanks to Mike, Zack and Thad. What a great experience. Cant wait to see what they come up with as the final product. It should be out in a couple weeks. http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...psqmiedcqn.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps8vnhz4s3.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...pszzuvunph.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...pscyvd4lmy.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...pshb4tpb6p.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...pstsubdwme.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...psqqc5qlz0.jpg |

Can't wait to see the drone shots. We were watching the footage on Zacks iPhone as Mike was cruising through the canyon. Looked so cool so I hope some of it makes it through the edits. I gotta get one of those. |
