Where was Greg when we had to load our Trailers? He knew when to take off. LOL Had fun chattin at the show.

ironworks 01-30-2012 03:37 PM

The start of the adjustable brake and gas pedal. This worked out really slick and easy.

He was smart and flew in after and before all the work. Jason (WAR) he was not so lucky, I bet he will sleep for 2 days after this weekend.

Thanks Jason for the Help.

I need one of those G-Dub replica shirts! Hopefully Greg didn't take all the mediums. :D Just let know how to order and pay. It will be one of the few items Greg has that I can actually afford.

They will be available on my website shortly for 20 bucks each plus shipping. I looking to be able to put the shirt in a 5 buck flat rate envelope from usps. Gray and black available.

GregWeld 01-30-2012 05:35 PM

If any of you know geometry and calculus and physics -- then you'll know that when the picture taker is 6 foot to god -- and the "takee" is "X" feet away - that triangle will make the "takee" look shorter... and wider... and older. Glad I took the "new math" when I was in school or I'd have never figured all this out.

You can tell major engineering went in to that. The sponge is a great dampner we all know the roads on the Power Tour are not perfect. You wouldn't want the disc to be skipping all the time. However the sponge has many uses.

It allows it to be place in any of his cars, he can take it with him at all times.
He also likes to drink coffee while driving. Any spills are easily taken care of.

Well I'm sorry but Doug Renner was busy that weekend. I have to work with what I have. But all the little kids at the show thought Greg might of been there to make balloon animals for them. He just did not have his driving shoes on. :D :D :D

For those of you who did not join us this weekend we had a blast at the show.

Is that Poster really tall or did Rodger take that Picture standing a table?

E.rodz 02-01-2012 04:26 PM

Couldn't go--ran out of tall dark and handsome spray--

I've seen what Greg does with balloon animals---at Chilli's---surely you remember that dinner after Del Mar---somewhere there is a pic showing the fallout from Greg and ballon animals---I believe Mary took it.

Car is coming along fast---Is it SEMA bound in October of this year?

I'm finally ready to send off what I hope is the final prototype of the X-frame chassis. It has a rocker height of 5 & 6 inches with only about a half inch of the chassis hanging below the rocker. It will ride down the road lower then an airbagged X-frame car. This frame has kicked my ass for the past few weeks but I can finally sleep at night. I got a new 64 bit computer this week and cannot believe i survived this long with out it. The new machine is so fast.

FlameBroiled 02-04-2012 10:08 AM

So will this frame replace the stock one, while retaining the stock floor?

Most of the stock floor. Some of the floor cutting is due to the ride height. I'm thinking "IF" everything works out as planned. It will have a minimum of 5" of ground clearance and sit about an 1.5" lower at ride height then an airbagged x-frame car. Exhaust is tucked, fuel tank moved, and this is on a 295/35/21 and 265/40/20.

We shall see.

71RS/SS396 02-05-2012 04:20 AM

Where's the fuel tank going to be located?

I'd have to weed through all the other bs not pertaining to the build and I'm too lazy to do that. Are you keeping the original filler door location? If not the wagon tank could be an option, they mount in the quarter panel.

coolwelder62 02-05-2012 08:32 AM

I would mount the fuel tank up in the front of the car so the fuel doesn't have far travel. It will also keep you from having to cut the trunk floor.:willy:

It also works well for unplanned marshmallow roasting with it mounted near the engine. :D
