Took this out at the Midwest Musclecar Challenge. David |
^^^ That's a great shot, I would try to Photoshop those cones out of there and it would be awesome, that is if I knew how to use Photoshop.

I like the contrast the cones give this shot --- and it says "I'm for kicking cones butts".... I like the way they frame the shot as well... Killer car -- and an even better guy that owns and drives it. |

Thanks guys. I like this one with the cones, but I definitely would have liked to have gotten a shot without the cones using a wide angle lens. Any suggestions on a good (Nikon mount) full frame wide angle? Thanks David |

:peepwall: I'm in the market for a Canon EF-S 17-55mm F/2.8 IS USM Lens. Being an inferior brand they're only $1K. |

I just bought a Tamron 10-24 for my Nikon... I wanted to buy the Nikkor version but the Tamron actually has less distortion around the edges..and was half the price... go figure. http://www.tamron.com/en/photolens/di_II_wide/b001.html If you've never used it --- try reading about lens on www.KenRockwell.com he has great info and reviews. Had to add that Ken hates this lens --- but for the kind of photography I do -- it works just fine. For a pro like him - it probably sucks... it just wasn't worth paying almost double for the Nikkor when I couldn't tell the difference. |

Ken's lens reviews are somewhat out of date IMO, so I've also been referencing B&H's customer reviews, Digital Photography Review, Digital Camera Review. FWIW - I'm down to these two lenses: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._f_2_8_IS.html http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...0mm_f_2_8.html Somewhat concerned on the reviews of the VC (vibration control/image stabilization) of this lens as it appears to cause focusing issues resulting in soft images which doesn't appear to be an issue with the non-VR lens. Just when you think you've found a deal, a serious for me shortcoming pops up. :bang: The Canon lens appears to shine in autofocus performance. Quote:

Here is another Great Dane photo :sieg: I saw this dog at the Beaches Cruise In last Wednesday... The dog had a gray coat and powder blue colored eyes... nice looking dog. Pretty brave to take a big dog like this for a ride your classic car.

He stays in one spot in my double cab truck, Rev's like a damn super-ball jacked on meth in the cab, going front back left right center with complete reckless abandon. :shakehead: |

Caught this one of Gwen last night --- sometimes it's hard to capture the bright lights and movement - in a low light environment... but I managed to get this one.
