Mark is moving stuff as we speak.

coachwinbush 09-16-2013 06:56 PM

what rear end are you using in this one

andreb 09-18-2013 12:25 PM

Can't wait to see pics of that new shop!

Stielow 09-19-2013 04:12 PM

A quick update. The exhaust is done. Looks great 1/4 inch below the DSE frame rail! We use the Too Much Fab canister for a pass through for the DSE Shock canister pass through. Makes a clean install and easy to tune.

As we would expect from you ---- pure perfection!

Really nice job on the headers! Wow.

Ppd1979 09-19-2013 04:36 PM

All I can say is wow.

Ron in SoCal 09-19-2013 05:05 PM

Looks great Mark! I have two questions for you:

- what's the caninster in front of each muffler, a cat?
- Sent you a PM. Can you explain the difference between active and passive sensors on the SKF hubs? Pretty sure it's only the ZR1 variety?

Thanks Mark

A hitch ball welded on the jack stand???

Ns RS 09-19-2013 05:21 PM

Question is will Charley beg to upgrade Jackass with the calibrated ABS or will he just buy this next?

2nd to last pic carbon ceramic with ABS casually presented to us minions. Awe inspiring and freaking bad ass dude.

The frame has matching cups welded in so the stands are very secure, no sliding on the frame.

I believe those are from Jim Browning, one of our vendors.

It's nice to only have to get under the car for rebound. Back to Afcos?

I assume the Too Much Fab canisters are for the fuel tank and rear axle vents. When you say you used them for pass-thru, how did you use them? Did you drill the flanges to run the pass-thru lines for the shock canisters? I sure would love to see a detail photo of how the lines actually pass thru.

I'm going to use JRIs but I had Afcos for mock up. The Afcos aren't as good but much easier to tune for track and street.

Mark

dontlifttoshift 09-20-2013 03:25 PM

I don't know how Mark did it, but we drilled the 2 1/2" hole for the vent can first. then we drill a smaller hole next to it large enough for a grommet that fit the hose snugly. Then file the remaining metal between the two holes to form a "keyhole". Then the order of assembly is shock canister through the big hole in the floor, slide the grommet and hose into the small end of the keyhole, and then install the vent can.

Here is a shot from underneath. The hose looks really close to the exhaust, it is not. The other plus side to doing it this way, is you run the shocks inverted so the rebound adjustment is easily accessible. Especially important with the JRi shocks.

Vince@Meanstreets 09-20-2013 11:58 PM

I get it, nice job Donny.

It won't work in our set up, I may try to hide a plate behind the tubing so its not visable from the trunk side.

Ron in SoCal 09-21-2013 07:25 AM

Yep we just made a close out plate on mine. I did notice Ridetech made a nice alum piece on the G/RS thread.

Donny,is there a build thread on your mustang!!!!

dontlifttoshift 09-21-2013 06:08 PM

Nope. That's Rich Gregory's Camaro that we put together.

69MAROLS7 09-22-2013 06:08 PM

Love the new project!.. Mark you always up the ante and everyone here appreciates the work and ideas you come up with.. Much respect:thumbsup:

dave96dcm 09-24-2013 05:48 PM

Dumb question, can you buy ball receiver cups or is it just a pipe with a cap welded?

In all the talk about cooling, I don't think I saw what coolant you use. Kind of curious about that.

I don't know what Matt @Sled Alley used but that's how I might atack it.

Sled Alley 09-27-2013 05:14 AM

I used a pice of tubing 1/4 wall and capped it welding cap inside and out just to make sure its over kill for the weight of the car

Thanks Gordon!

That was a great start to my Sunday morning!

Maybe I could out bid Charley on this one and then show up at a NorCal Shelby Club event with it and put a whoopin' on some unsuspecting old Mustangs....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA --- In my dreams!

Sieg 09-29-2013 12:22 PM

Good looking exhaust system.

Using OEM calipers to keep the costs down huh? :D
