Hi Guy's. It's a tricky decision for sure, not only are there an almost infinite number of choices available, paint and panel are probably the single most expensive item on most builds, if you don't get it right the first time round you're either stuck with it or it's going to cost a bundle to change it, then you will be single. lol. Cheers Trevor.

Pretty much.

I've got short list and I'm thinking that rather than spay outs, I'll have a fender painted with the different colors on it. Then I can sit and stair at it out the back window or something.

Yo DFRESH! Thanks man. Hopefully it won't take long to get it on the road once the paint and body is done and the good times will roll!

Nice to see updates Curtis! Silver will be a nice choice if that's what your settled on. Me personally like the Mercedes color the best out of the two. He has done a nice job on the car. You will be proud once it has color!

Thanks bud. Silver is the choice, but it's going to take spray outs for me to pick the exact silver. The Mercedes silver is currently in a tie for first. Lexus has a nice one to and it shares the number one choice at the moment. Ask me next week and the car could very well be blue ....or red.

My trip to the dealerships has yet to reveal the right color. I was digging Mercedes Alubeam, but apparently it's one of the top 8 most expensive colors to paint. Yeah...that not happening. Hope that the spray outs aren't to far off. I did spot something that really made me take notice though, just need to dial it in.

Thanks bud. Every time I get pictures I am jaw dropped. It's weird and in a way it doesn't seem like it's my car. I'll probably just sit and stare at it for a few days when it's finally home.

trevor572 01-21-2016 12:32 AM

I don't think so Curtis !!!!

I might lose my mind between now and then and honestly look forward to it being painted just so I don't stress about picking the right color anymore.

That's one I have over looked oddly enough. :sieg: I cruised the web-site and spotted a few that I liked. Time for a trip to the dealership to see what they have on hand.

Thanks Chris. That was a great trip and I am looking forward to the next one. Laurie and I are talking GoodGuys, but I'd like it to be sooner. Greatly appreciate the shop tour. I picked up a few little tips and tricks kind of things from what you guys are doing.

Spiffav8 01-21-2016 09:57 PM

After the last batch of pictures I didn't expect to receive any more for at least a week. I received the first batch around lunch time and the second just a few minutes ago.

The Marquez tail lights I ordered finally arrived. :ups: Looks like a little work needs to be done to make them fit right, but it sounds like it isn't a big deal.

Good timing on the arrival of the tail lights. Gives Jim something to work on while the primer dries.

I thought it was looking good in the previous set, but the gray primer really makes things stand out. Apparently the next stage is a black primer that helps fine tune things. I'm learning...slowly. :sieg:

Yeah...Marquez does make nice stuff without a doubt. Just can't be beat.

The tail pan will be black. That's the one part of the car that hasn't changed color.

DOOM 01-23-2016 06:33 AM

I'm shocked you even got Marquez to answer the phone ! And even more shocked you got them that quick!! No matter what they do make awesome parts ,if you can get them!
