Tanks a lot!

Did the owner/ fab guy ever work at DSE? His work looks like theirs. Beautiful work.

clill 08-09-2023 03:37 PM

No. Matt works alot more efficiently also.

Not my work, but that's aluminum and yes, a DA gives that finish. I usually use 120 of 220 depending on how much surface damage I'm trying to cover.

Jimbo1367 08-24-2023 12:08 PM

DSE always had a nice finish like that. I always assumed it was a sander(vibration) with some fine grit or steel wool pad attachment.

Cill,
Does Matt have any other workers or is he a one man show? Does he paint the “rides” in-house or farm it out?

Thanks,
Jimbo

clill 08-31-2023 06:23 AM

It's just Matt and Scott. No painting. The Camaro will go to Dutchboys.

Jimbo1367 08-31-2023 07:04 AM

Thanks for the info. They do impressive work

All that work and you're not centering the wiper post, what kind of build is this?! :headspin:

Beautiful fab work and tons of talent as usual.

Dammit !

A bit unrelated to this car but I’m wondering how the riviera is holding up with the solid mount chassis. Also, your Sonoma lives in the PNW now, I saw and talked with the owner at Puyallup GG’s, sounds like he’s loving the truck.

Also, if you didn’t get a thank you card, thank you. 🖕🏼❤️

It is holding up fine. Think of it as a unibody like half the cars out there today.

Mark, thank you! Where are you connecting the drain on the air/oil separator? About how much oil do you end up using and or measuring in the tank? Any good pics of your tank all hooked up?

thedugan 11-13-2023 06:31 AM

Checkout the build thread on Apex. Might have the info you are looking for.

Just a heads up. Matt sent chrome to Advanced Plating and was told expect maybe a 20 week turnaround. Apparently they are busy so anyone doing chrome might send right away.

Thats their normal turn around apparently...I got a quote 4 years ago on some bumpers and was about the same. Not bitching, good for them to have that much success. Very few platers left.

214Chevy 12-13-2023 03:30 PM

Advance Platers are some of the best. They charge top dollar for their services..

dhutton 12-13-2023 04:56 PM

I read the other day that Dave Kindig bought Ogden Chrome so his jobs get priority.
