yep, from the reverse side, got the fronts on but couldn't get the backs on. Messed up the lips and spokes. Tires are Michelin pilot sports 345/30/19's and 275/35/18's. The whole package is on the way to Forgeline for repair and install. Forgeline said they don't normally put this style of tires (runflats) on their rims?? I let them know if it's not a good fit just send the tires back and I'll just purchase a different recommended set through them to be installed. Just want to get it taken care of so I can get them on the car. Forgeline has been really good to work. We're all just a little confused as to what the issue is? I've been told by several installers these types of wheels are a bit difficult to fit tires on being such a snug fit to the barrels. The company involved does alot of the Rushforth installs here and they believe it may be the powder coated barrels which are coated inside and out??? That would be hard to believe but who knows. For now on I'm just going to leave it to the professionals, the wheel manufacturers and just buy my tires through them and have them installed before being shipped.  |

Makes no sense to me. I've never had any problems having tires mounted and unmounted. The key is to find a wheel dealer with the high end machines. I had Discount Tire do it once but they boogered up one wheel a little. You better find somebody local or it's going to get expensive shipping wheels and tires across the country all the time.

So I really don't have any more updates pics of the car as it's sitting somewhere in a shop? Though it hasn't kept me front spending. Since we all likes pic's, here's a few quick ones.
Finished the polished valve cover covers. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1430/wheels030.jpg Finished all the window original window trims and painted them black along w/aftermarket drip rail trim. http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/553/wheels017.jpg Don't know if you've seen these but I've incorporated a 68 camaro rear bumper on the bird, cut/narrow/shaved and painted. http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/3788/wheels027.jpg http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/2176/wheels028.jpg Gettin' prepped for music, stepped up and bought a three way hertz speaker system. ml1600's, ml700's and mltweets. http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/350/wheels022.jpg http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/9361/wheels023.jpg |
I've seen that Hertz stuff somewhere.....
Sweet Lenie! |
Hertz is nice stuff, we have used them in several builds.
|
Couple more.
Screamin' performance sent me some of their kick panel speaker enclosures which will be wrapped in red leather. http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/9000/wheels021.jpg Header built by Stainless Headers. Ground clearance is an issue so we stopped them just shy of the firewall, will transition to oval tubing to x-pipe then out round down driveline tunnel into a set of Spintech's out and over the axle. After I do an engine start up I send the headers and exhaust in for coating. http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/49/headers003.jpg |
That's what I'm talking about Lennie. Didn't think you were sittin on you a$$...:D

Sorry, nothing new to speak of. Went w/spintech for ground clearance issues. Having mufflers and custom offsets built but am playing the waiting game again. On a good note, forgeline have refinished my damaged wheels, mounted tires and shipped them out today. Great company to deal with. Good to hears from you guys, appreciate it. Hope all is going well with your projects.

Repaired wheels showed up from Forgeline today. Couple of changes, decided to clear coat centers and sold my Michelin Pilot sports and bought Nitto's.
Like to add, I've never had better customer service then how Forgeline treated me throughout this entire process. If you choose Forgeline, you cannot go wrong with their customer service. Mark and Steve were both very good to work with. Thanks http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/5638/002hnk.jpg http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/7952/003wzh.jpg http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/4141/004vqm.jpg |
Very cool. I like the different color/finish combo you went with.
|
Those Nittos look great and those wheels have a serious deep dish. Very nice.

Wiring http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/5171/exhaust005.jpg Airride and battery, no room for the cover. Will be selling cover if anyone wants one? 5 gallon cover http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/9742/exhaust010.jpg Had custom headers and exhaust fabbed up now installing. Nothing is below the frame rails. Looks like we may be firing it up next week. |
