When did you find that out?

I can't believe they didn't watch for oil pressure! It just keeps getting worst.

No it's never ever ever ever never ever going back there....

So here's another funny "story" in the saga. I'm up in Canada EH?! (Blake and Anita showed up last night with the Nova - so we'll have fun) and my sister says "you don't have brake lights again"...... WTF OMG are you kidding me! I've been complaining about this since first picking up the car.

Well - my brain kicks in - and I like SIMPLE.... so I'm thinking.... hmmmmmm.... repop tail lights --- my guess is with an intermittent problem like this it's the socket in the tail light... SURE ENOUGH.... the bulb is loose as a goose. A pair of long nose pliers - tighten the GROUNDING SOCKET and bingo issue solved. This is after they've rewired the circuit - gone over the circuit - and disassembled the housings and painted them white (for better reflection) AND put in brighter bulbs... SOOOOOOO someone had to have felt
exactly what took me half a nanosecond to feel. The bulb is flopping around in the socket. DOH.

No Wayne -- this is a PROFESSIONAL shop -- they don't need oil pressure gauges hooked up.

After awhile I heard the valve train clattering so loudly I could hear it across the street (LOL) and asked them to kill it! Pulled off a valve cover and it was BONE DRY....

THEY put in an MSD slip collar distributor.... but THEY failed to adjust said slip collar until it actually engaged the oil pump. EPIC FAIL. They also failed to prime the oil system before firing off.... why? Because they don't own a priming tool at the shop! REALLY!?! I thought it was a hot rod shop.

WoW ! That takes the cake. Now I really am feeling for you.

mdprovee 06-25-2011 07:21 AM

Sorry to hear about all your pains. I feel for ya.

Flash68 06-25-2011 09:51 AM

Greg, this story keeps getting worse.... so the question now is: what REAL shop you going to take it to get it sorted out?
