I know where you're coming from - and you're right -- that might be a simple solution --- IF ---- BIG IF --- this wasn't a big azz gooseneck trailer...

The overhang would have to clear the hood of the truck -- by the time you worked all that out -- and had a hitch big enough to make that all work -- I could buy a forklift...

Man I'm envious of the road trip.:wow:

That BBQ looks pretty good. Just remember when you are using that thing keep your hands a safe distance. Don't take a chance of accidently welding your knuckles. I heard somewhere welding your knuckles is a really :badidea:

You're safe that shelf is pretty high.:D But by all means keep your shaft away from the BBQ and the food.

111 pages on a truck build/purchase, can't wait to read about the house!

The beauty of having been retired for almost 22 years now... I've gotten to do a fair amount of "living". This is just stage 4 --- the part where you kind of want to pick your last spot... and where your friends want to come and hang out... and it only gets to this stage when your kids are grown and on their own... and you have no other "ties" to the big city.

And here's the part I like the best.... Since this is a truck and trailer thread! I have to take the trailer down to Jerome to Freightliner of Idaho so they can try to get me some trailer brakes... It's a nice straight shot down Idaho 75...for about an hour and a half -- and I'll hit two stop lights.... and not a single FREEWAY. That's "living" in my book.

Can't say I've been to Sun Valley, travel through the "area" on the way to Bonneville though. Baker City is a nice place to hang out, the diner across from Les Schwab used to have the best biscuits and gravy....until you find out what's in it and have read the Healthy Living thread!:confused18:

Hard to beat that small town atmosphere. I used to own a Motel in Spearfish South Dakota, family still does. When we'd head back it was like traveling back in time. Sad to think what the Walmart has done to that town:shakehead:

Do you own enough real estate at the cul-d-sac to put in a short driveway? Just enough to pull into and than back into the main? I'm sure you'll figure out something....maybe you could get a dually with a 24' enclosed to make things easier :lmao:
