Well I got the top end so cheap that just the heads were almost worth what I paid for them + the intake and Jesel shaft rockers. So I knew I factored all of this in and I am still ahead on that. I honestly just think the seller passed on info he was told by the guy he bought them from.

Thanks but I like where this is going now and my crank was just ordered today and will be here next week instead of 4-6 more weeks. I upgraded to the Callies Comet for a couple hundred extra bucks. Better finishing than the F43 I am being told and weight is at a svelte 43 lbs... 10 lbs lighter than a Compstar.
Stroke is set at 3.562 and with 4.155 bore makes 386 cubes.
Todd, I'm wondering how heavy that Compstar BBC crank of yours is... might need to upgrade that. :lol:

Piston is being designed from scratch and Mike has a grasp on this (I don't claim to). Unlike many engine builders (assemblers) that call up XYZ Piston Co. and say tell me what I need, Mike specs it all himself and calls in the order to his specs. And we are building a motor he has done many times over so I have utmost confidence. Just trying to learn as much as I can in the process. :thumbsup:

Haven't dynamic vs static with him, so I assume he is not concerned as he is voices all his concerns very openly with me. For a "budget" 18 degree motor he has been great to work with. Basically the cam design will come last he said and he will make the power be exactly where we want it. Every time I ask him something about a change or this or that, he says don't worry we will make it work where we want to when I design the cam. Again, new process for me to build a motor with such planning and project management. I'm lovin that.
