The 1st time you run silver state, you have to do the school, enter the association and the navigator has to pay for navigator school too!

For a first timer, It's a lot of running around trying to keep up with the schedule. One option is to just run the event in a regular car the first time, then you know the ropes and have the schools out of the way and can focus on the car, the next time around. Not saying you can't do it in your Camaro, we did, but you'd better have the car in reliable condition, or it won't be much fun.

One guy ran the Optima sponsored 1 mile top speed event the day before, he broke his clutch and was out for Sunday because he had no spare parts. It's best to have a sorted, proven, car there.

I agree 100% Dave. I was thinking about renting a Vette in Vegas or Running it the shop HHR just for the experience. Until I found out it was going to be about a 1000 bucks. We are just working to make a decent showing in November. This will allow us a few weeks of track test time before the Optima Shootout. Then the real fun comes this winter getting ready for the Autocross events, Silver State Classic in May, possibly the One lap Event with James Shipka, Hot Rod Power Tour, and just having fun with the car in 2010.

I'm pretty excited about the One Lap Event, James told me they are supposed to run Watkins Glen and I love that track. I have been practicing all the East coast Tracks on I racing.
